Eligibility Criteria (UG & PG) of Aircraft Manufacturing and Maintenance Engineering
For admission into any DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) approved institution, the requirements are –
- A passing certificate of a minimum of 50% aggregate from any 10+2 higher secondary education in the fields of Physics, Chemistry as well as Mathematics; or
- A three-year diploma in the fields of mechanical, electrical or aeronautical engineering is also acceptable.
This allows a candidate to take part in the AME CET Exam (Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Common Entrance Test) which, based on an All India Ranking, allows admission into AME Colleges. Upon culmination of the course, an exam conducted by DGCA must be cleared to avail the license as a practising Aircraft Manufacturing and Maintenance Engineer. AME Careers can be further advanced by applying for an M.Tech in Aeronautical engineering. If not for further education, the graduate can also apply for the exam for availing an Associate Membership for Aeronautical Society of India.
