What is Anthropology
Anthropology is the study of how humans are made. It gives anthropologists a wide and broad understanding of human experiences, which is called holism. The study of Anthropology consists of human differences and similarities. The study involves the past as well through which they see how human groups lived hundreds or thousands of years ago. The study of Anthropology can be done as B.Sc. in Anthropology or M.Sc. in Anthropology. It is the process to understand the human condition, and also the research techniques to understand Anthropology. The primary aim of this course is to look after the past and present in addition to an understanding of how humans are made and also their differences. It is concerned with human behaviour, and human sciences. After the successful completion of this course, the candidates are hired by organizations like WHO, UNICEF, UNESCO, and also in the research and teaching field.
Eligibility Criteria (UG & PG) of Anthropology
The minimum eligibility criteria for any course is 10+2 pass with a minimum aggregate of 50% or equivalent from a recognised university or board.
For Undergraduates:
The minimum eligibility to pursue this course as an Undergraduate is 10+2 pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects.
The candidate should have passed Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of at least 50% marks or equivalent.
For Postgraduates:
The students who wish to pursue this course as a Postgraduate, the candidate must have passed B.Sc. in Anthropology with an aggregate of 50% marks.
Also, the candidates who have B.A. in Anthropology with an aggregate of at least 60% are eligible to pursue this course.
There is one eligibility criterion if a candidate has pursued B.Sc. with specialisation in Zoology, Botany, Geology or B.A. in Sociology, History, and Psychology, then the candidate can pursue this course with an aggregate of 60% marks.
Entrance Exams for Anthropology
Certain examinations are conducted by the organisation to procure admission to the students. After clearing the entrance exam, and based on the counselling, admission is given to the students.
Some institutions and universities conduct online examinations. Some of the examinations are:
MUET - Manipur University conducts an examination to give admission to the student in the field of Anthropology. After qualifying the examination, the student is granted admission.
DUET University- Delhi University also conducts examinations for students who wish to pursue Anthropology and get full knowledge about it.
- Some of the institutions grant admission based on the marks in the examination and also give them counselling, after which admission is granted.

The eligibility criteria for MSc Anthropology is that the candidates must have a bachelor degree in relevant field from a recognized university. They must have a minimum aggregate of 50% marks to be eligible for MSc Anthropology.
