B.E M.Tech is an integrated dual degree that students can pursue after 12th. If one separately pursues a B.E and M.Tech, then the B.E. takes four years and M.Tech. takes two years. B.E+M.A dual degree takes five years to complete and saves one year.
Candidates who have successfully completed 10+2 in the science (PCM) stream can only enrol in the B.E. M.Tech integrated course. This dual degree lets students pursue careers as engineers, researchers, and academicians. All main specialisations of engineering- CSE, ME, CE, ECE, EE, and IT are available to pursue in BE M.Tech integrated course.
B.E M.Tech stands for Bachelor of Engineering- Master of Technology. It is a combined integrated dual degree programme. One of the best features of this programme is that it allows students to graduate with a master’s degree in just five years, instead of the usual six, thereby giving them a head-start over their competitors.

The fee structure for the integrated course is decided by the college authorities. A dual degree costs less than a separate BE and Mtech degree, as candidates have to pay for only 10 semesters and not 12.
The average BE MTech fees range from Rs. 3 lakhs to Rs. 12 lakhs. Candidates are advised to visit the college website to know the exact fees for the BE+MTech integrated course.
This intensive dual degree course does not allow for an exit after three years. Thus, you will get dual degrees at the end of five years. This scenario will keep students motivated throughout their entire coursework and help them earn a master's degree as well.
In addition, students do not need to opt for a master’s programme separately, saving time and effort. The BE M.Tech integrated course is designed to attract the best students who can also contribute to the research efforts of the relevant department and get better job opportunities.
The eligibility criteria for B.E. M.Tech combined programme is the same as that of regular B.Tech and M.Tech. programmes. Below are the details of the eligibility criteria for enrollment in the B.E M.Tech course:

Most colleges select candidates based on the marks scored in the respective entrance exam. The steps to be followed in the admission process are as follows:
The syllabus followed is the same as that of regular B.Tech and M.tech courses, and the programme is divided into ten semesters. Courses are divided into two components- the core programmes undertaken by all students and the elective programmes.
These courses are all complemented by research projects, and laboratory work to fully enrich the students’ understanding. Assessments can vary from course to course and include tests, quizzes, assignments, lab work, and exams.

The core undergraduate subjects provide general education in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering Sciences, Technical Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Some of the subjects undertaken during the first half of the term are as follows:
Students undertake a research project in a specialisation of their choice, which gets them well-acquainted with the practical application of knowledge and research work. Some of the subjects in the second half of the term are:
The compulsory courses for the postgraduate programme are as follows:
A master’s degree for engineering students provides a lot of scope not just in India but worldwide. The rapid change and modernisation of technology have steadily increased the demand for professionals who have specialised in different fields of technology. This will help you secure a higher position in an organisation, thereby providing you with a lot of interesting career opportunities.
Those who wish to pursue a higher education can get themselves enrolled in a Ph.D. course. Admissions to Ph.D. is usually provided based on UGC NET score and other entrance examinations conducted by universities to provide enrollment in the Ph.D course. It is a doctoral-level research degree programme.
After graduating with a dual degree in engineering- BE+MTech, candidates can pursue careers in research, universities, top MNCs, PSUs, and various other sectors. Available job profiles for them are listed below.
Engineer: An engineer designs and maintains systems or structures by applying principles of science and mathematics.
Researcher: A researcher investigates and analyses data to gain new knowledge or insights in a specific field. They conduct experiments and interpret data, and publish their findings to advance understanding and inform decision-making.
Lecturer: A lecturer delivers educational lectures and seminars. They also develop course materials and assess student performance.
The salary of candidates depends on the employer, the location of the job, and numerous other factors. However, to help readers, we have listed average salary numbers in the table below.
Job Profile | Average Salary |
---|---|
Engineer | Rs. 5.8 LPA |
Researcher | Rs. 7.7 LPA |
Lecturer | Rs. 4.1 LPA |

The B.E. M.Tech integrated dual degree course has a total duration of 5 years.
Yes, the JEE Advanced examination is designed in a challenging manner. Despite this, the exam is not impossible to crack as the syllabus stems from the syllabus of 11th and 12th standard. The key to performing well is practising as much as possible and familiarising yourself with the type of questions asked.
The main specialisations include Computer Science Engineering (CSE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Civil Engineering (CE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering (EE), and Information Technology (IT).
No, the integrated course does not allow students to exit after three years. It is designed to be completed in five years, after which students earn both degrees.
Graduates can pursue careers as Engineers, Researchers, or Lecturers. They can also work in various sectors such as IT, telecommunications, construction, and manufacturing; depending on their branch.

Yes, you can apply for any M.tech colleges in computer science field through GATE exams, some of the requirement you need to see that you must have Under graduate degree, Pursuing BE doesn't affect your eligibility, You may check some of the specific eligibility criteria of the colleges like IIT's in which you are interested, as some of them may have additional requirements.
With an SC category rank of 41,715 and a CRL rank of 570,173 in JEE Main, getting into NITs or top-tier IITs for B.E./B.Tech may be challenging. However, you might find options in state engineering colleges in Maharashtra, as they often have seats reserved for SC candidates with lower cutoff requirements compared to NITs. Look into state-level entrance options like MHT CET or other reserved category seats in Maharashtra’s government and private engineering colleges for better chances.
