The candidates are provided admission on the basis of merit. The candidates are required to meet the minimum eligibility requirement. The minimum eligibility requirement is completion of a masters-level academic program with an aggregate of 55 percent of marks or equivalent to it. M.Phil Distance Education: A master of philosophy through distance learning is a flexible program. The duration of the course M.Phil through distance learning can extend up to five years. The students of Ph.D. are required to submit the original thesis which is examined by a panel of judges. The M.Phil is a master’s level degree. The Ph.D. is considered a higher value degree. In M.Phil, the students are required to learn the theoretical aspects and master the content area. The duration of M.Phil is one to two years. It is a pre-doctoral degree. It takes five to seven years for a Ph.D.
