Sustainable development course can be described as the development that meets the necessities of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to satisfy their own needs. The idea and concept of sustainable development course can be interpreted in many ways, however, at core its an approach towards development that looks to balance different, and often competing, necessities against an awareness of the environmental, social and economic limitations we confront as a society.
Generally, development is triggered by one particular need, without thoroughly considering the wider or future impact. The damage caused by this type of approach towards development affects every aspect of life such as large-scale financial crises due to the irresponsible banking or change in global climate resulting from our dependence on fossil fuel-based energy resources. The consequences will become more extreme and frequent, as long as unsustainable development is being practised. The focus of sustainable development is far greater than the environment. It's about ensuring a healthy and strong society.
