CPO stands for Central Police Organisation. It is a competitive exam conducted by the esteemed Government organisation called Staff Selection Commission at the national level for recruiting candidates for the dignified post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police. Various organisations adhere to this exam coming under the recruitment channel. Candidates wanting to appear in this exam will be prepared to serve the country in dignified police codes. The posts serve financial stability with significant returns of awards and recognition.
Candidates who are motivated to join the police force and are less than 25 years of age can fill the SSC CPO posts. There are also some relaxations in the upper age limit for various categories; for example, a candidate from the OBC category can apply for the post up to the age of 33, whereas the SC/ST category candidates can apply for the post till the age of 35 years.
The conduct of the Central Police Organisation is for a competitive task force in which thousands of aspirants appear every year. It is a well-sought job for which one must be transparent about the detailed exam pattern, eligibility criteria, and the distribution of vacancies to prepare accordingly and ace the chances of selection.
Following is the detailed SSC CPO exam pattern that is conducted in various stages:
Paper I: The first Prelims paper consists of 200 marks, where candidates are assessed on a total of 200 marks in 2 hours. The subjects covered are General Intelligence & Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Knowledge & General Awareness, and English Comprehension.
Paper II: The Mains paper also consists of 200 marks, where 200 objective MCQ-type questions are asked based on only one subject, i.e., English Language & Comprehension, set for 2 hours.
PET/PST: Only those candidates who pass the written exam stages will be eligible to appear for this stage. Here, candidates’ physical ability and stamina of candidates are tested, which differs for males and females in terms of height, weight, etc.
