What is the full form of DAF?

The Detailed Application Form, or DAF, is what applicants must complete and submit online on the UPSC website in order to register for the mains exam. Candidates who pass the UPSC Prelims exam should use the official UPSC website to register for the UPSC Mains exam. The Detailed Application Form (DAF) should be completed within time, and it should be sent to the commission. Candidates should be familiar with the DAF's instructions before beginning to fill it out. The DAF is an extremely important document that outlines everything from a candidate's career to their posting. As a result, it is recommended to all candidates to take special care when filling out the DAF.

How to Fill The DAF

• Candidates are recommended to carefully examine the Rules of the Examinations, which include eligibility requirements among other things, in the Gazette of India.

• Candidates who passed the preliminary examination are required to complete and submit an online detailed application form by visiting the UPSC website, www.upsc.gov.in.

• Candidates should confirm that they have correctly filled out all of the columns. The candidates' requests to modify any of the items they provided on the online detailed application form will not be responded to by the Commission.

Guidelines for DAF

• Candidates must correctly enter all information on the registration form, including their full name, roll number, birth date, and email address.

• Once all the information has been entered, press the submit button. The candidate's name, email address, and password will be displayed in a message on the screen and delivered to the candidate's email account, respectively.

• Candidates should then return to the UPSC website and use their roll number and password to access the module.

• After completing each module, candidates should save it. Before submitting the DAF (Detailed Application Form) in its final form, candidates can also make modifications in any module; but, beyond that point, they won't be allowed to make any changes online.

Important Points To Remember While Filling

• Don't accidentally send the UPSC the DAF print preview pdf. The original DAF is the one that needs to be sent to UPSC.

• Printing the DAF should only take up one side of the page.

• On all pages of the DAF, candidates should sign their names in the area designated by the UPSC.

• Candidates should include a passport-size photo of themselves that is comparable to the one that is shown in DAF.

• Put a 200-rupee central recruitment stamp in the designated place. Use the post office seal to get it canceled; it should bear the date and the name of the post office.

• Along with the DAF, include all the certificates that UPSC specified as being mandatory. The Class 10th mark list is required as proof of DOB for general candidates, and a degree certificate as proof of eligibility. The certifications should have their authenticity verified, either by a gazetted official or by the applicant themselves with a date.

Some of the online form's fields have already been filled in with data from the candidate's earlier completion of the online application form for the written examination/preliminary written examination. These sections include the candidate's name, birthdate, parents' names, email addresses, physical challenge category, percentage of disability, etc. The candidates cannot alter these fields. However, if a candidate discovers any inaccuracy or discrepancy in these fields, he or she may submit a separate, in-depth demonstration to the Commission with all pertinent supporting documentation, in order to support his or her claim.
