The UPSC exam is mainly divided into three categories:
Preliminary exam

Interview round

Upon qualifying for the mains exam the candidate is eligible for the interview round.

Distant vision : For Distant vision, the standards are set as 6/6 or 9/9 for the better eye followed by 6/12 or 6/9 for the worse eye.
Near vision : For the better eye, the corrected vision should be J** and J2** for the worse eye.
Refractive errors permitted : A candidate with a Myopia of more than 6.00D along with cylindrical and spherical error is permitted.
