What is the full form of ECO Mark?
Eco-mark is issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) as a certification mark. It is issued for products that are ecologically safe and abide by the standards prescribed by the BIS. The implementation of the scheme was seen in 1991. It is voluntary in nature. It also helps in the identification of the eco-friendly products present in the market. The mark is given to the products belonging to 16 categories. ECO MARK Certificate and Licensing
Manufacturers and producers will have to apply for ECO MARK for BIS testing and certification.
BIS will complete the required testing and certification process in the allotted period.
Once a product has earned a label, it is permitted to use the ECO MARK label for a specific amount of time before reapplying for a new ECO label license.
The prize is given out for at least a year at a time.
In the event the BIS discovers false information or criminal activities, it may rescind the award.
