Give me details about biomedical is this good?In this field scope or not?
Dear candidate,
Any student who is contemplating on pursuing a career in Biotechnology must be aware that this field is still developing in India. Therefore, the number of job openings and pay packages are both very low when compared with IT and CS fields.
After a BTech degree, students can find jobs in pharmaceutical companies, research labs and institutions in India. However, most Indian students tend to go abroad to pursue their masters or doctoratestudies in Biotechnology and allied fields. Some students also shift to MBA andenter the world of business, finance and banking as their engineeringbackground gives them the required quantitative skills to excel in thesesectors. Also, many students shift to software through on-campus placements.Talking about on-campus placements, since the number of job openings is veryless in Biotechnology, the number of companies coming for placements will bevery less. Also, core companies only hire students from universities such asIITs, NITs etc. If your university is not reputed nationally or state wise, chances of any biotech or pharmaceutical company coming for placements sessionswill be close to nil.
Since this field is highly research oriented, vastand diverse, it is highly recommended that students pursue their graduatestudies in Biotechnology, Biomedical sciences, Biological sciences, BioprocessEngineering etc.
Scope of Biotechnology for BSc students:
If you are a BSc student in biotechnology or any other biological sciences related fields, it is highly recommended that you pursue your MSc. The job opportunities for BSc graduates in a highly research oriented field as biotechnology is very less and most students tend to pursue their MSc in Biotechnology or a specialized discipline of biotechnology. Indiais home to some excellent MSc programs such as JNU, DU, IISc, TIFR, IITs etc. With an MSc degree, most students tend to work in research labs and industries as research assistants. The pay package is also quite less for MSc graduates.Since India is still developing, it is highly recommended that you do your MSc in a reputed institution for good campus placements and job opportunities. If your university is not reputed, chances of any biotech company coming for placements will be zero.
Many MSc students tend to pursue their PhD degrees in Biotechnology or related fields as a PhD degree opens up more avenues both in India and worldwide. A PhD degree will give you the ability to start your own research lab, become a professor or head of the department in universities or be the lead for a team of research scientists. If your goal is to create a niche for yourself in Biotechnology, then your best bet will be to get a PhD.
Hope I answer your question and it's helpful.
All the best!
Which has more scope : Chemical technology or Chemical engineering???...also which is better??
Chemical Engineering is more to do with designing of the equipment/ chemical process. It involves in depth calculations of the process design of the equipment for eg calculating the heat transfer area of the heat exchanger, calculating the residence time of the reactor or calculate the pressure loss in the line of the pump etc. Thus it has got a lot of practical stuff.
Chemical Technology is the study of different processes in Chemical Industry. For eg. Study of process of production of Ammonia, or study of the process of petroleum refining, study of the process of production of caustic soda etc! Thus it is more theoretical. It involves deep understanding of the effect of operating parameters on the process.
Chemical engineering student have mainly two choices after graduation.
Go for a job in any chemical industry
Go for a further studies
Let's first discuss about scope of job. In chemical industry chemical engineers get job mainly for two post first one as a production engineer and another is as a process engineer. As production engineer they have to deal with production and work related to it. As a process engineer thier main role is process design and development.
Now discuss about further studies. In further studies you can go for post graduation in your core field or you can go for MBA. In core field you can do M.Tech or M.E. in India or foreign. In India thier their are many institutes like IITs, NITs, IISc and many other. If you are interested to do from foreign then thier are lots of universities provide the degree of MS (Master of science).
If you're interested in non core work like marketing, finance, HR then go for a MBA. Most of the entrepreneurs also go for MBA. In India thier a lots of institutes are available like IIMs and many more Universities are available. Even old IITs also provide this course.
Hope you find it helpful
let me know in the comment box if you are having any further doubts
thanks
Good Luck!

1) which competitive exams i can give after M.SC. Organic chemistry?? 2) what is the scope of M.Sc. Organic chemistry?
dear aspirant,
Organic Chemistry is one of the most sought after branches in Chemistry. In terms of career scope, organic chemistry is probably the best among all branches of chemistry. Here are some options after an M. Sc. in Organic Chemistry.
- Academic positions. One can always go for a PhD or even qualify NET to become eligible for holding an faculty position in any college /university.
- Pharmaceutical industry. Pharmaceutical industry is a bit worn off these days, but still they are one of the largest employers for chemistry graduates.
- Oil and gas industry. Oil and gas industry requires graduates in Chemistry and mostly prefer Organic Chemistry graduates for various purposes including quality assurance, assistance in exploration and R&D
- Government departments. Several government departments like GSI require graduates in Chemistry for their laboratories.
- You can write jrf exams if you are intrested in PHD and teaching you are also eligible to write other government exams as you are qualification makes you eligible.
hope it helped.
Sir,i did b.sc in zoology, now what will be the better option msc in zoology or msc in biotechnology, is there any good scope in biotechnolo
hi!
zoology has it's own pros as it is a core biology subject and closely related to biotechnology.
For for MSc zoology should do BSc zoology but after Bachelors in any sciences you can go for MSc biotechnology.
Biotechnology being an applied science course is still not valued like pure science courses like zoology and botany. I would recommend you to go for zoology.
