What is the full form of GIFT CITY?
Gujarat International Finance Tech city, also known as GIFT CITY is an under-construction Central business district developed by the Gujarat government in India. The GIFT CITY is located on the bank of the Sabarmati river and beside the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel international airport at a distance of around 12 km away, in Gandhinagar district, Gujarat (India). It will be India's first international financial service centre and the only greenfield smart city. The government of Gujarat promotes Gujarat's international finance tech city (GIFT CITY) as a greenfield project. Gujarat international finance tech city (GIFT CITY) is connected to the capital of Gujarat by a 4-6 lane national highway and Ahmedabad- Gandhinagar metro. Its total allotted area for construction is 886 acres and the city is 3.9 square kilometers.
Facilities In GIFT CITY
Water supply and sewerage system:
For GIFT CITY water is taken from the Sabarmati river. Samrudhi Sarovar is designed in the city to supply water 24x7 and it has the capacity to store drinking water for up to 15 days.
Power and electricity:
The Greenfield project has a power demand of 410 Market value added (MVA). To complete this demand, a dual source of a power station is placed in the city.
They have a capacity of 220/33KV(Kilo Volt), and power will be distributed through a 33 KV dual feed cable in the utility tunnel to all the packages.
Every building in the city has a separate switching panel room for a dual 33KV feed of energy. The complete electricity infrastructure of all buildings will be developed and maintained by gift power company limited.
Information and Communication Technology:
Gujarat's international finance tech city is developed to make the central business district have a high internet facility with Wi-Fi.
One separate data centre facility is also provided for GIFT CITY.
