The Hindustan Socialist Republican Association is the full form of HSRA. It was formerly known as the Hindustan Republican Army (HRA) or Hindustan Republican Association (HRA). It was founded in 1923, and Ram Prasad Bismil drafted the constitution. His associates in this association were Sachindranath Sanyal, Ashfaqulla Khan, Jogesh Chandra Chatterjee, and Sachindra Nath Bakshi. The association had centers in Lucknow, Agra, Saharanpur, Allahabad, Kanpur, Shahjahanpur, and Varanasi. When Mahatma Gandhi called off the non-cooperation movement, these young activists and nationalists broke ties with the ideology of non-violence and considered violent actions as a means of achieving freedom.
The party disintegrated in 1931 when all the association leaders were killed or imprisoned.
