Three forces F1=2i+j-kN F2=2i+3j-3kN F3=a(i+j-k)N act simultaneously on a particle. The value of a so that particle may be in equilibrium is 1)4 2)-4 3)2 4)6
Hello,
In the question it is stated that to be in equilibrium .In equilibrium their sum should be equal to zero .
So F1+F2+F3=0
2i+j-k+2i+3j-3k+ai+aj-ak=0
(4+a)i+(4+a)j-(4+a)k=0i+0j+0k
If we compare on both the sides
a=-4
Hope this answers helps!
which to join ece in vit chennai or chemical engg. in act chennai
Hello.,
Both the college have it's own importance and they are on of the reputed colleges in chennai. Now coming to the point of question then it wholly depends on student interest about the branch or course in which he wanted to get the admission.
If you have skills in ECE then choose VIT or if you are interested in chemical engineering then choose ACT.
In general ACT have the good placement record alongside with good infrastructure and faculty. The placements are 70- 80% depending on the candidate performance. The average package would be minimum of 45 lakh per annum and the average salary is 7 lakh per annum.
VIT is also having good placement record of 80% and many companies like Wipro., Infosys., Dell comes for recruitment. The highest paid salary is 40 lakh per annum and the average salary is 7.5 lakh per annum
Hope this helps. Good luck

sir, if any state invoke DISASTER MANAGEMENT ACT then there are chances to postpone JEE MAINS or not.
Corona is a Global Pandemic and it cannot be confied to a State to call it a Disaster of that particular State. And JEE Mains is a National Level Entrance exam and is not conducted at State level. So the chances of postponement are nil. Let's say according to you even if a particular State invokes Disaster Management Act, the exam will not be still Cancelled because the Supreme Court has dismissed all petitions in this regards. These are ally hypothetical situations and so the only realistic thing to do is to get used to the fact that neither JEE nor NEET will be cancelled and prepare accordingly.
Find the magnitude of the two forces, such that if they act at right angles, their resultant is 10 N . But if they Act at 60, their resultant is 13 N .
Hi Debasis,
Let the forces be F1 and F2
F1^2 + F2^2 = 10
as the angle between them is 90 degrees
when angle is 60
F1^2 + F2^2 + 2 * F1 * F2 *cos(60)=13
10 + F1 * F2=13
3 = F1 * F2
(F1 + F2)^2 = F1^2 + F2^2 + 2 * F1 * F2 = 10 + 6 = 16
F1 + F2 = 4...............(1)
F1 - F2 = √( ( F1 + F2)^2 - 4F1 * F2) = 2.......(2)
from eq.(1) and (2) We get
F1 = 3N ,and F2 = 1 N
Feel free to ask doubts in the Comment Section.
I hope this information helps you.
Good Luck!
