how to apply for core companies
Hey,
Here are some suggestions if you are a student:
- Try to do the final year project on your own. This doesn't mean that, you should try something which is very advanced in technology. Atleast try to reproduce things which are already existing, with slight modification. By doing so you'll learn how to implement an idea, source materials for your project.
- Be strong in the area of your expertise. If you are not comfortable with books, there are many YouTube videos from which can learn and make yourself technically strong. It all depends on how you use the tool (YouTube).
- Tough we can't judge a student by his academic performance, but try to maintain an aggregate of 7.5 CGPA. It is because few core companies (both in private and public sector) sets CGPA of 7.5 as minimum eligibility criteria.
- Do some internship in the field you want to start your career. It is not mandatory that the internship should be done in a well reputed company only, you can also do it in any small start-ups also. Finally what you learnt, speaks a lot about your skills than from which brand you did the internship.
The following points applies for both students and freshers who are searching for job.
- Learn some extra skills in the domain you aspire to work. For eg: learn design softwares if you want to pursue your career in design field, learn programming skills for embedded field, etc
- Forget about the pay, being a fresher you must be focused only on gaining experience not your salary. Every small things you learn through experience makes up what you are.
- Most important skill to get a job is PATIENCE , DETERMINATION, HARDWORK+SMARTNESS.
Without learning any extra skills in the area of your interest, it is difficult to get placed in core companies. Best way to start a career in core is to focus on start-ups.
All the best!
