It is difficult to predict the chances of getting seat because admission is given based on your rank, reservation (if any) and seat availability. You need to secure the cut off rank and the cut off rank depends on normalized marks, total number of seats available, total number of candidates applied etc. The cut off rank will be declared after the counselling is concluded. You may not get seat if you belong to general category.

The fee structure for ECE is as follows according to the official website https://vit.ac.in/admission/ug/fee-structure

Tuition fee per annum: Rs 1,95,000

Caution Deposit (Refundable and one time payment): Rs. 3000

So, the total fee for the academic year is Rs 1,98,000.

• 100% fee waiver for Central and State board exam toppers for all the 4 years.
• 75% tuition fee waiver for candidates with ranks up to 50.
• 50% tuition fee waiver for candidates whose rank is in between 51 to 100
  
• 25 percent tuition fee waiver whose rank is in between 101 to 1,000
• The district toppers (one boy and one girl) in all the districts of Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh who are studying in Govt. Schools in rural areas will be given 100 percent fee waiver and exemption from hostel and mess fees under Support The Advancement of Rural Students scheme.

I think, VIT is better than Sathyabama Univesrsity. It is top most deemed university. Academic and placement wise its very good. Many extra curriculum activities has been conducted here. VIT organized third top most cultural carnival ‘Riviera’. It also organized technical event ‘Gravitas’. Many workshops have been taken place and organized international SET conference twice a year. So, VIT focuses not only student’s study, but also his/her overall development.

With this rank there is no scope for category 2 or even category 3. You will be placed in Category 4th and in this category also ECE is pretty difficult. I am not saying that it is impossible as chances are there in category 4th.

Other than ECE you can easily get EEE, Civil, Mechanical and Biotechnology.
