Hello Mam/Sir I secured 554 rank in APPGECET 2020 in mechanical. I belong BC A caste and i am from Hyderabad. Are there any chances to get into top universities in thermal stream ? and also is there any difference in seats for local and non local or the seat allotment purely depends on rank ?

I would like to inform you that JNTU Anantapur, JNTU Kakinada, SVU college of engineering Tirupathi and AU Vishakhapatnam do not offer Thermal Engineering course in M.Tech .
Maximum colleges offer machine design course.
But there are few colleges affiliated to JNTU Kakinada Which provide Thermal Engineering.

hi there,i got 22nd rank in ap pgecet in biotechnology stream and im non-local,oc.what are the chances to get seat.
You have scored a decent score in AP PGECET.You can get any stream in a good college.
But the problem is that you have not mentioned the category under non local.
According to official notice,the eligibility condition says the candidate should belong to the State of Andhra Pradesh satisfying local and non local status.
It means that you can be a non local but you have to study in educational institutions in local area of a duration of not less than four consecutive academic years.In case you haven't studied in any educational institutions,he/she must reside in the local area for a duration of atleast four years.
If you satisfy these conditions and match the eligibility then you can apply under different colleges.
You got a good score and can easily get chance in any stream in a good colleges under this exam.

As we know, pgecet candidates are given preference after gate qualified students and only few seats remain. Your rank is good enough to get you a seat in mtech , you have good chances.
As you have not mentioned your branch , I cannot particularly tell you which college you have higher chance and where you can get a seat based on your rank.
The cutoffs vary every year due to number of seats remaining and number of candidates applying.

With this rank even in sc category it is tough to get a seat in top institutes. JNTU Kakinada and JNTU Anantapur the cutoffs have been under 1000 for sc category.
You have not mentioned your branch and hence the above cutoff which I have mentioned is according to all branches. If you want to know your chances in your branch or any particular college you wish to get admission in, you can mention the college names and your branch. You have mentioned you have a rank of 74 in Food Technology in Appgecet.
However you have not mentioned your category.
But even if I consider you to be of unreserved category, I think you will be able to get a seat in a decent college through counselling.
Although the number of admissions every year depends on a number of factors, I think with a double digit rank you will get admission.
