The institute was established in the academic year 2001-02 by Anil Neerukonda Educational Society (ANES) which was founded by Dr. N.B.R. Prasad, an NRI Philanthropist from the USA, with industrialists and eminent educationists in memory of Late Anil Neerukonda, S/o.

Candidates have to qualify the entrance test and secure a valid rank. Candidates who qualify the test will further have to participate in the AP ECET counselling process.Final admission will be based on the marks secured in AP ECET, participation in the AP ECET counselling process, document verification and fee payment.

Further, based on the marks secured in AP EAMCET, candidates have to participate in the online counselling process of AP EAMCET conducted by Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).  Final admission will be based on the marks secured in the entrance test, participation in the counselling process, seat allotment, document verification and fee payment.

Admission to B.Tech courses is offered by Anil Neerukonda Institute of Technology and Sciences, Visakhapatnam on the basis of AP EAMCET conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) Kakinada followed by counselling conducted by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).
