hi,
see if you opt for bsc in zoology/botany/microbiology or any other courses related with biology you need to remember the scientific names, let it be animals or virus or bacterias any thing, scientific names is one of the most important things and it includes in most of the topics related with biology. so you need to think deeply whether you should opt for bachelors in biology related field.
what is the difference between Ba sociology honors and Ba sociology and difference between ba anthropology and bsc anthropology?
Hello aspirant
Basically Difference between BA hons and BA course is that in hons program you study a particular specialization papers whereas in BA program there is no specialization of papers.
If it is explained in simpler way than it is like learning one thing at its best you are going to specialized in that particular Subject is called Hons. But whereas you learn a little-little about everything is called simple Bachelor's degree.
so many more chances are open for you in BA program as compared to Hons .
So is the difference between BA Sociology hons and BA Sociology.
which one is better for upsc optional sociology or anthropology having same intrest in both these subjects
Hey
It's great that you have interest in Sociology and Anthropology but the option to chose is with you. You need to analyse on which subject you have a better hold that will fetch you more marks, because that matters the most. You can follow last year papers and see trend whether Sociology or Anthropology would be suitable for you.
According to reports, Anthropology had few repeated questions in the past paper, so that might help you in determining. But solely it is your decision considering you need to score high marks.
can anybody please tell me that how much Marks do we have to score to get admission in BA sociology honors? and how much we need to score in entrace exam of anthropology?
Can you help us in understanding which entrance exam are you enquring about please?
if we have to join coaching in chandigarh for upsc preparation which optional do we choose sociology or anthropology? in which subject from both of them study material is easily available?
Hello,
Sociology involves the study of society and social behaviour of human while antropology on the other hand not only deals with social aspect of human but even their biological aspect.
Choosing sociology will help you a lot as an optional in UPSC because of the similarity in the sociology syllabus as well as general studies syllabus, this will also help in general studies paper four in case of ethics, this subject is comparatively easy to understand especially for humanities students .On the other hand, Anthropology has comparatively shorted syllabus, as this includes social as well as biological aspects og human, so science is involved here.
You should choose the subject based on your interest, when it comes to availability of study materials, both Anthropology as well as Sociology have been taken up by previous qualified candidates, so there's no dearth of study materials, nowdays preparation for UPSC isn't just limited to printed books, one needs to use the Internet extensively as well regarding this matter.
which one is easy anthropology or sociology ? if we have to choose graduation in anyone of them
Hello,
The question of a subject being easy depends on you, anthropology as a subject includes study of social as well as biological aspect of human so there's science involved here unlike in case of sociology which focuses to a large extent on the impact of society on humans/congreration, how does it influence their behavior etc.
in which subject graduation will be beneficial sociology or anthropology ? if we have to choose it for upsc having same intrest in both the subjects
If you focus on preparing for UPSC and commit to a fixed target, I would say, go for anthropology. This is because, when you go for UPSC mains, it will help you. The syllabus for anthropology is short as compared to sociology and this gives you an advantage of time while preparing for the exam.
Nevertheless, all the subjects in the UPSC syllabus are equally important. The basic eligibility criteria just states the requirement of graduation degree in any subject from a recognised University. So, you can choose any subject.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!
in which subject graduation is better sociology or anthropology? if we want to prepare it for upsc optional i completed my +2 now so please suggest me better graduation choice
It doesn't matter. You are free to choose anyone you like. Whether it is Sociology or anthropology, you can choose anything.
But as you have asked that which will be more beneficial then i would suggest you to go for Anthropology. I am saying this because i have seen various example out there that how Mains optional Paper can be a King maker or a destroyer.
In anthropology questions are sometimes repeated, there is no new concept coming day by day, you will have to just mug up everything.
All the best!!!
Suggest me some useful anthropology related movies or documentary& pls tell in which platform they are available
Hello,
When it comes to movie list for Anthropology then the best website will be IMDb, you can get detailed list of those movies as well as information regarding cast and crew, reviews of users, trivia and other such mentions. use Google and Youtube extensively regarding this, it'll be of great use. You can also follow Youtube Channels especially dedicated to UPSC preparation in regards to anthrology as a subject, watching those too will help you a lot.
please tell me the syllabus of entrace exam of bsc anthropology of punjab university and please provide the link of previous year entrance exam question paper please please its a humble request is this exam subjective type or objective type?
There is no syllabus per se for B.Sc PU CET entrance exam. You will be tested on your knowledge in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics at 10+2 level. Each subject will have 60 questions. Every right answer gets you 2 marks and a wrong answer takes away 0.25 marks in the form of negative marking. So you have to prepare based on your 12th NCERT books. Unfortunately we couldn't get hold of previous papers for you. Sorry about that.
