I want to know about bfa in applied art admission process.
Dear,
BFA Applied Arts is an undergraduate Fine Arts course. The course is basically 4 years long and the examinations can be either semester wise or yearly.
The admission process for BFA Applied Arts is generally merit based, though some colleges and universities also conduct entrance exams. Mostly, the candidates will have to pass a personal interview and Art Skill Test round before final selection.
Here are some steps to understand the process better-
- Entrance Exam: For the colleges accepting entrance based admissions, the candidates will have to qualify in these exams first. The entrance exams are conducted either by the colleges themselves or by some other authorities like university or state entrance boards.
- Application To the College: The candidates will have to apply in the colleges where they wish to get admission. The candidates must check the eligibility criteria carefully before applying.
- Personal Interview and Portfolio Examination: After shortlisting the candidates, the colleges will call the selected candidates for a personal interview and portfolio examination. During this step, the art skills of the candidates will be tested.
- Enrollment: After examining the portfolio, if the candidate seems fit for the course, he/she will be granted enrollment to the BFA Applied Arts course.
Hope this helps!

provide me full details of applied art..
Dear Aspirant,
Anyone who is talented, artistic, has an eye for the aesthetic and has an imagination which knows no bounds, then applied arts is the way for them. The sole aim of ‘applied arts’ is to provide a visual treat solely using the diverse and vast imagination. Applied Art is often mistaken as ‘fine arts’ but there is a thin line of difference between the two terms. 'Fine arts' is creating a visual or putting out your vision on a medium exactly. ‘Applied arts’ involves graphic designing, interior designing, fashion designing, architecture, advertising and visual communication. It also includes functional art, basket weaving, pottery, jewellery making etc.
Eligibility Criteria
Being a vocational course, applied arts lays emphasis on theoretical knowledge as well as hands-on training. The aspirants acquire knowledge about the history of art and design as well as spend hours in training on designing on the basis of concepts and ideas. In India, BFA in Applied Arts can be pursued after passing 10+2 Board examination. The candidate must have secured a minimum 50% marks (45% marks for reserved category) in aggregate to pursue a BFA in Applied Arts. It is, however, an undergraduate degree programme, aiming to impart knowledge on ‘applied arts’ along with expanding the cultural, aesthetic, emotional, moral values of the students.
Hope this helps. All the best!
