what is AI architect? how to become one? what is the salary of an AI architect? which job has more scope AI engineering or AI architecture?
Hello,
* Firstly talking about, What is AI architect ?
- The Artificial Intelligence architect is like the chief data scientist, planning the implementation of solutions, choosing the right technologies and evaluating the evolution of the architecture as the clients’ needs change.
- The industry is changing at a very rapid speed. Technologies that existed years back are obsolete now. Everyone in the present industry has to adopt the changing technology and get knowledge of new technology.
- It was presumed years back that there will be a day when everything will go online, and we have been through that day.
- Analysts and researchers have now presumed that by 2025, everything will be on Artificial Intelligence.
- The Internet of Things (IoT) will be in demand. Along with Artificial Intelligence, analysts have also recommended people to get accustomed to other technologies like Machine Learning, Data Intelligence, etc.
- When someone thinks about learning new technology, the only barrier that they face is time & money as well as they get confused from where they can take the knowledge transfer.
* Secondly talking about, how to become one ?
- First and foremost, any AI architect job will call for several years of relevant work experience, ranging from five to more than 10 years’ experience. Some roles may also call for you to have banked some of these years in a very specific area.
- While not a requirement for every role, many will expect you to have a minimum of a master’s degree in computer science, data science or an AI-related discipline.
- You will be expected to have an advanced knowledge of a number of programming languages, with some roles calling for fluency in certain languages, such as Python.
- You will need a proven track record of implementing machine-learning solutions, development in multiple languages and statistical analysis. You will also need to be familiar with a whole host of other approaches used in practical applications of machine learning.
- While this is a heavily technical and experienced role, soft skills are as important as ever. Most AI architect roles call for excellent analytical, project management, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Basically, an AI architect is one of the most senior roles in the field, with a lot of responsibilities and leadership calls to make. Therefore, it is one of the most specialized jobs, calling for more than a decade of education, experience and training.
- For those working their way up the AI career ladder, AI architects are in extremely high demand and therefore can justifiably command those sky-high salaries.
* Thirdly talking about, AI Architect Salary :
- The 2020 Robert (https://www.roberthalf.com/salary-guide/technology) Half Technology Salary Guide lists the midpoint starting artificial intelligence architect salary at $143,750. However, that’s a national average — Sherwood reports that salaries can be 41% higher in an IT hub like San Francisco. Use our Salary Calculator (https://www.roberthalf.com/salary-guide/technology#calculator) to find the average artificial intelligence architect salary in your area.
- AI architects are also in high demand to help deliver digital transformation projects on a consultancy basis. Consulting salaries can vary widely depending on the exact projects you work on and the size of the company.
* Fourth talking about, j ob that has more scope between AI engineering or AI architecture :
- AI engineers are in high demand and for good reason. Artificial intelligence has seemingly endless potential to improve and simplify tasks commonly done by humans, including speech recognition, image processing, business process management, and even the diagnosis of disease. An AI engineer builds AI models using machine learning algorithms (https://www.simplilearn.com/10-algorithms-machine-learning-engineers-need-to-know-article) and deep learning neural networks to draw business insights, which can be used to make business decisions that affect the entire organization. These engineers also create weak or strong AIs, depending on what goals they want to achieve. AI engineers have a sound understanding of programming, software engineering, and data science. They use different tools and techniques so they can process data, as well as develop and maintain AI systems.
- Whereas an AI architect will be expected to deliver tangible solutions for the clients they work with as well as being capable of creating and maintaining architecture using leading AI technology frameworks. They will need to understand client needs and be able to translate these into business solutions that they can implement. Therefore, the role of an AI architect is vital to any AI or machine-learning strand within a business. AI architects must analyze data to inform their decisions – to be able to correctly do this, they need to have a deep understanding of AI applications as well as the specific infrastructure they’re working with.
- Talking about AI engineer salary, according to Glassdoor, the average annual salary of an AI engineer is $114,121 (https://www.glassdoor.ie/Salaries/us-ai-engineer-salary-SRCH_IL.0,2_IN1_KO3,14.htm) in the United States and Rs. 765,353 (https://www.glassdoor.ie/Salaries/india-ai-engineer-salary-SRCH_IL.0,5_IN115_KO6,17.htm) in India. The salary may differ in several organizations and with the knowledge and expertise, you bring to the table. Whereas when you consider the level of expertise, tacit knowledge and soft skills necessary to be an AI architect , it will come as no surprise that they command a high salary. In fact, the annual salary for an AI architect can go well above (https://www.simplilearn.com/top-highest-paying-tech-jobs-article) $100,000.
- The first skill required to become an AI engineer is programming. To become well-versed in AI, it’s crucial to learn programming languages, such as Python (https://www.simplilearn.com/mobile-and-software-development/python-development-training) , R, (https://www.simplilearn.com/mobile-and-software-development/javascript-development-training) Java, and C++ to build and implement models. As an AI engineer , you need to perform certain tasks, such as develop, test, and deploy AI models through programming algorithms like random forest, logistic regression, linear regression, and so on. Whereas AI architect need to manage the architecture based on restrictions, conflicting requirements and any other limitations they may be faced with. These are all very specific judgement calls that only the most senior AI professionals with the right expertise would be able to make.
Hope this works for you !!

Thankyou
i am in 1 yr arch I just completed my 1st sem but i have not passionate abt arch as i chose it only bcoz my parents wanted me to even after a degree i will be an avg architect i am thinking to pursue bsc psychology As i always wanted to study psy i have no idea abt career in it. is it worth leavin
Hello,
My advice to you would be to do what you are passionate about. If you are doing B.Arch due to the compulsion from your parents and still do not like it I don not think there is any point in continuing with it, because even if you pass the course you may not be able to do well in your career if you have no passion for it.
But do not be hasty and make a decision. As you said you have no idea about the career scope after BSc Psychology, I suggest you research more and see if you actually would be interested in doing it and if it would be worth it.
