Getting 8416 is a good outcome. But the SRMJEE cut off rank varies every year with respect to branches and campuses. It also depends on the number of seats available for each branch. So we cannot be sure of getting into CSE with specialization.

Now, If we look at previous year cutoff trends then we will find that the Computer Science and Engineering seat with specialization in artificial Intelligence and Machine learning in SRM main campus has been given to students whose rank is some thousands rank below your rank, and you have very slight chance to get CSE with these specialization in the main campus.

i will recommend you for cyber security branch and you will most probably get it with the rank you have mentioned.

Other branches that you can also get there are mechanical engineering,  chemical engineering,  civil engineering,  aerospace engineering,  electrical & electronics engineering etc.

Firstly, congrats on successful completion of your SRMJEEE Examination. The cut-off trends keeps changing every year and it depends on the number of students attempting the exam, difficulty level, number of available seats, etc. Getting a CSE seat is getting highly tough these days as the demand is very much. But, with a rank around 3100, you can very easily secure a CSE seat with AI and ML in SRM KTR Campus as the closing rank was around 9,500 - 10,500 for CSE core branch in SRMJEEE 2016. So, just apply to their counselling process and secure a seat easily.

To get the CSE seat in KTR campus your rank should be under 10K so if you are coming under this then the path is clear for you to get the CSE seat and for specialization if you are coming under 15k that will be enough.

Still if you won't get the you can get IT whose cutoff rank is under 20K, as every path is open for you, choose whatever you want, there is high chance you will get CSE.

The cut-off trends keeps changing every year and it depends on the number of students attempting the exam, difficulty level, number of available seats, etc. With marks of 185.5, it's not possible to secure a CSE seat in any of top colleges like PSG, Sri Krishna, REC, etc. If you want a CSE seat itself then you can try applying for other colleges. Whereas, you can easily secure a EVE, IT, Mechanical, Civil or any ither seat except CSE in the top colleges that you have mentioned.

You can get an idea about the cutoff for various colleges in TNEA examination. We cannot predict the rank vs. marks as the cutoff changes every year. With the previous year statistics, you can just have an idea. To know the exact cutoff and closing ranks this year, you have to participate in the counseling process.
