I have scored 71 marks in CEE with rank 2835 and belong to ST category. Can I hope for admission in to JEE
Your rank is bit high in CEE exam so with this rank it is quiet tough for you to get any government colleges under CEE. But you can get private colleges. And if you have secured good marks and securely clear the cut off of JEE mains then you can get an NIT and you are a residence of Assam so you can get Silchar NIT with home state quota. Kindly specify if you have clear the JEE mains cut off or not. Hope it helped you.

You have fair chance of securing a seat in a government college based on your CEE rank, your admission is highly subjective to the engineering stream that you pick for your specialisation.

The minimum cutoff marks that makes you eligible to apply for the next round in cee based on your category is 41 to 45.
The minimum marks to get into four government colleges for your category is
Assam Engineering college 99
Jorhat institute of science and technology 94
Jorhat Engineering college 91
Bineshwar college 89
Dibungarh college 93
So you can not get into any government college based on your marks, but you can try in the counselling as many seats are left over if not you can always try for private colleges.

As per your marks your mark is not good enough to get admitted to top colleges under CEE like AEC, JEC. But you can get other colleges which comes under CEE like Jorhat Institute of science and technology {JIST) Bineswar brahma engineering college (BBEC) and barak valley engineering college. Can you please specify if you belong to general category or other category. And with this mark and if you belong to ST(P) , ST(H) , TGLC , EX TGLC then only you have chances to get admitted in colleges under CEE. If you belong to general category then with that particular mark you will be not able to get any seat in any college rather than you can go for private colleges. Hope it helped you.

It will be difficult for you to get a seat in Assam Engineering college (AEC) or Jorhat Engineering college (JEC), as you belong to general category you may get Jorhat institute of science and technology (JIST) or Bineswar brahma engineering college (BBEC) or Barak valley engineering college. I got 196 marks with 291 rank in cee Assam2019..can I get admissionin AEC in civil branch??
You scored an amazing marks in CEE 2019.
So, you Definitely have chance to get a seat in one of the branch of AEC.
But, as you may be knowing that CIVIL and MECHANICAL are considered as the best branches in AEC, so it's quite difficult to get admitted in these two.
But, as your rank is 291 there is some chance for civil/mech. But I said already it's quite difficult.
So, try for the counseling process land see which branch you get
