I am student of 9th grade and l want to become an astronomer so I need to study in iucaa what are the fees for that
Hey Aspirant,
Hope you are doing great,
As you want to become an astronaut:
For that you will have to start focusing on your career once you pass 10th grade. One should choose Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects in 12th.
After you are done with 12th grade and you have gotten good grades, you need to focus on a good Bachelors degree from a recognized university. One could choose a course in Physics, Chemistry, Math, Biology, or Aerospace Engineering.
To be able to get a post graduation degree and a doctorate, you need to do well in your undergraduate degree. Post graduation and doctorate will basically be specialization in your stream.
After you are done with graduation, you can sit for the exam, which is held by NASA for the recruitment of scientists and astronauts. Or in order to join ISRO one needs to clear the Joint Entrance Exam which is held by the IITs.
And in order to be a mission specialist, you will need 3 years of related and responsible experience.

Best of Luck :)
is there good scope in astronomy? and how hard it is to become an astronomer??
Hello Tisha,
Hope you are doing well.
Astronomy is a scientific course which deals with the study of the physical universe; it is focused on events, objects, and phenomena that originate outside the earth’s atmosphere. In short, astronomy is the study of everything beyond the earth’s atmosphere such as the moon, sun, planets, stars and much more in detail.
One can pursue an undergraduate and postgraduate degree in astronomy with B.Sc./Bachelor’s in physics, astronomy or astrophysics, diploma, and Master of Science in Astronomy or PhD in Astronomy. An individual pursuing this course of the subject is required to understand the basic principles of physics and mathematics since the course is based on the application of these subjects.
Eligibility criteria for UG in Astronomy:
1. Candidates must score a minimum 50% marks after averaging the marks they have in all subjects and above in 12 grades.
2. Candidates must have completed their 12 grades in science stream with Subjects of maths and physics .
3. The admission process for Astronomy is based on the entrance exam or merit-based as per the Institution requirements.
Scope of Astronomy in India and Abroad:
The study of astronomy may offer limited scope to individuals engaged in this course due to the requirement of extreme experts relevant to the needs of space works. If an individual is pursuing this course under a prestigious well-known Institution, he/ she might have a better future scope in the future.
This subject requires a lot of enthusiasm and efforts to understand the celestial bodies and its workings along with changes that take place over time.
With the skills and experience obtained throughout the course, if an individual has an outstanding performance and knowledge in astronomy, the chances of being employed in ISRO or NASA becomes a possibility.
One can pursue this course in India as well as abroad, and its scope depends on the individual’s dedication and research-based studies and works achieved over time.

Doctor , IITIAN , astronomer , Scientist , if we arrange them in their life status so how is it? which one is best! someone has said me that only dr. se best , i dont think so that it is , please somebody clarify it
Hi,
I hope you are doing well.
All the professions have equal amount of respect and integrity in the society.
Be it a doctor, a IITIAN, astronomer or any profession for that matter, every profession has its own qualities which are unique and different from each other.
So every profession is best in their own ways and it has no order.
Chose a profession that will make you happy & where your interest lies so that you could perform best of your abilities in it.
I hope the above information helps.
All the very best.
A doctor or an IITian who is more appreciable and how can we compare them , Is doctor more good or an iitian or an astronomer/ astronaut is best from both of them in life and career?
I think every field is equally important and every career has its own importance. If you're asking about which career is more good then I would say that doctor field is best.

is it necessary to write KCET or NEET exam to become an astronomer
See NEET is the examination which you want to give if you are wiling to go for medical courses. So for being an Astronomer NEET will be unnecessary. Now there are no UG astronomy degree courses in India if you wish to go you have two ways. One is to go for BSc Physics hons and then you can go for MSc Astronomy at IIT Indore by qualifying the IIT JAM examination. Apart from this you can also go for BTech in Engineering Physics/Mechanical Engineering etc and then you can qualify the examination of JAM. Apart from that there is TIFR which offers admission to Astronomy and Astrophysics in Integrated PhD for that also you can go for Engineering or a BSc Physics. So overall KCET will be partially beneficial for you to be an astronomer.

How to become an astronomer in India ? I am a JEE apsirant. I want to become an astronaut + astronomer Please guide me the path to achieve my dream
Hello aspirant.
you want to make your career as an astronaut, make your decision-making skills strong. To become an astronaut, you have to be adventurous, mentally and physically strong because the selection process is rigorous and very competitive.
After passing the 12th examination, you are required to choose the Bachelor’s Degree course in relevant areas of specialization. You can pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Science & Technology. Admissions in these courses are offered on the basis of merit or entrance- exam conducted by the universities or at national level.
Students are required to select the college to pursue graduation in the STEM field and this can be done through proper research. Try to choose a college with industry tie-ups and collaborations so that one may gain internship and work experience while studying.
