The cut off rank for the general category last year for the M.Sc computer science in the BHU was 61 and the OBC rank cut off was 11. This has been the trend from the last few years, and it rarely varies much from this. So, with your rank in the BHU PET, you are highly unlikely to get admission. Hi Aspirant. There is a very high competition for admission in BHU in every course. Seeing your ranks and analyzing it with the cutoff your marks has not helped you to be in the safe zone. So I am sorry to inform you that you will not be able to secure a seat this year.

It is probably not possible for you to get a hostel seat in Banaras Hindu university with a rank of 1816 in general category and 253 in EWS category.

The chances of you getting a general seat is less but you can still hope for getting admission in the EWS category with honours in your desired subject. You should attend the counselling if you have received a call letter from them.

BHU is considered one of the best university to pursue the M.sc agriculture course, and it also has very few seats in this course, around 100-120 seats, overall. So, the competition is pretty high and therefore the cut off rank generally goes around 300-400 only. However, the cut off changes every year, so you can hope for the best. Hello Abhishek. There is nothing as passing marks in BHU entrance exams. The admission is only dependent on the cutoff which varies from subject to subject and exam to exam. So, your admission totally depends on the cutoff of the exam you have taken. So, please specify about the entrance exam you are talking about.

Last year, the cut off rank for the B.Sc biology group was 2327 for paid seats and for B.Sc mathematics group, the cut off rank for paid seats was 1810.  So, with general rank of 3197, you are highly unlikely to get admission, unless this year the cut off changes drastically.
