How to become manager is bank?
Hello.
generally a bank manager post is not an entry post. One has to enter at a lower level post and after gaining on the job experience and in-house training and putting in some minimum years of service at various lower levels the bank entrusts the managerial responsibility to a suitable person after evaluating the relevant parameters by test and /or interview.
At present there are generally two ways of becoming a Bank Manager:
1. Entering bank as an Assistant or clerical cadre employee and then progressing with internal promotions.
2. Entering as a direct recruit bank officer or Probationary Officer (PO) or Management Trainees(MT)and then progressing to become manager after some years of service, or progressing to various scales of officer post and progressing towards various Managerial scales.
We shall discuss on the PO recruitment and internal promotion route as to become manager; one has to first become a bank officer.
Graduation is the present basic academic qualification for applying for a Bank Probationary Officer. Some banks recruiting directly ask for MBA in Banking and Finance also.
The IBPS PO/MT tests are on the following:
Quantitative Aptitude
English Comprehension
Reasoning
General Awareness with focus on Banking
Computer Basics
After undergoing various changes in recruiting procedures, at present there are two main streams for Probationary Officers recruitment.
1. Recruitment by selection from IBPS examination conducted by Institute of Bank Personnel Selection.
(a)Common IBPS exam is conducted for many participating banks.
(b) IBPS conducts PO examination for a particular bank as per requirement of that bank.
Most of the public sector banks follow either (a), and State Bank of India recruits by (b).

Hello Nidhi
Kindly clarify your query so we can help you. You want to know the salary of which bank?
Good Luck!
If I want to work in bank with high salary, which course should I take (BBA//BCOM)
Dear Vishwa, if you are talking about Clerical posts in Nationalised banks, the eligibility criteria is that you should have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline. For SBI Clerical post, a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised University is accepted. And the truth is irrespective of the discipline in your Bachelor's, you dont get paid right away high salary. You join as a fresher or a junior and you get paid according to the rules and your grade of job. This is the same for Private Banks and Government Banks. You get hike in salary as you grow in your experience. While releasing the notification the authorities give you a fair idea of the pay scale in the notification. That is the estimated salary that you can expect.
