Hello Aspirant,
I would suggest you to go through with the given below link to download the previous year papers of NIFT.
Good Luck!
accidentally i applied for bftech instead of bdes. what should i do know..plzz answer..
Hello student there's no option left now as you've make the mistake yourself by applying for b.ftech instead of B.design.
As this year exams has already passed you need to appear in next year nift entrance examination and make sure you won't make any mistake.
Eligibility for bachelor design :-
Candidates must have passed class 12 (or appearing) from any discipline from a recognized board.
Feel free to comment if you have any doubt
Good luck

Hello Vicky,

I hope it helps
Thank you
The NID DAT 2020 BDes entrance was supposed to be 3 hours for both GAT and Drawing section, but in my centre in Bangalore the examiners did not give the drawing section until after 50 minutes. This meant that we only 130 minutes for drawing. Unfair! How was it in other centres??
Thanks Harish, However, what you are saying is true for MDes only (which is 150 minutes paper). My query was related to BDes which is 180 minutes paper. As far as I know there is no such notification for BDes exam. It seems unfair to all the students who were not allowed the full 3 hours for both sections.
I am a non design background students who want to pursue MDes. For me Paper 2 is Apparel Design. There is almost no information about it online. Please guide me. What all topics should I ,as a non designer, study because Paper 2 is all BDes oriented.
The paper tests your creative aptitude, visualisation skill, reasoning, creative writing, awareness, general awareness, general knowledge, some basics and sensitivity to solve any design related problems, etc. Agreed that people from B.Des will have a slightly better advantage but you can crack it easily too. So you will have to dig as many as sample papers as you possibly can and practise them. There is no set syllabus in specific for this test. And so you have to either join a Coaching center for getting a hang of the subject before you appear for the entrance exam or you will have to practise as many as sample papers as you can and read B.Des books.

what i can be after studying bdes course in iit?is this a good course ,will i get a good job and how to prepare for it?
Dear Florida,
Industrial Design Centre (IDC) at IIT Bombay has a Master of Design degree (M.Des) programme in Industrial Design, Visual Communication, Animation Design, Interaction Design & Mobility and Vehicle Design as well as a Ph.D programme in Design.
IDC also offers a four year, eight semester Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programme and a five year, ten semester dual degree B.Des + M.Des programme. However, the option of doing the dual degree, B .Des + M.Des will be available only at the end of the 3rd year.
Both these programmes would be credit - based and thus offer the flexibility to progress at one's own pace. A minimum level of performance is essential for satisfactory progress. The medium of instruction is English.
The admission for B.Des. is through UCEED or Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design. It will be held on January 18th 2020. It is a computer-based test. If the applications are available now, they will have a late fee. It is a national level exam with a duration of three hours.
For other details about UCEED: https://design.careers360.com/exams/uceed
Since, the course curriculum for B.Des. comprises of CAD, CAM, product development, marketing, specialisation specific subjects, vocational subjects, elective subjects as well as personality and skills development subjects you can go ahead according to your specialisation.
The specialisation in IITB is available in the following:
- Product design
- Visual communication
- Animation/Game design
- User interface/experience design
- Vehicle and Mobility
It is also available in IIT Guwahati. A decisive advantage of the Guwahati B.Des programme is that a B.Des student can pursue a minor from any department of his/her choice.
The job opportunities after B.Des. are:
-
Graphic Designer
-
Design Managers
-

-
