I have completed my internship 6 months ago but I didnt apply for provisional registration for BDS during my internship period.can I apply now? or should I directly apply for permanent registration?
Hello
You can directly apply for permanent registration if the Dental Council of India (DCI) or the respective State Dental Council allows it . Provisional registration is generally required during your internship period , but if it wasn’t applied for earlier , it may no longer be necessary after completing the internship .
Contact the relevant council for guidance on the required documents and process for permanent registration .
Hope this helps you .
Thank you
In j and k an ews category student usually gets mbbs seat with 420 marks could you tell me what will be the cut off for bds?
Hello,
The cut-off in Jammu and Kashmir for students to get the MBBS seats under the EWS category is around 420 in NEET. For BDS, the cutoff is slightly lower than the MBBS cutoff. Following the trend and previous years' cut-off data:
- EWS Cutoff Marks: As per the percentile 50 for NEET 2024, the marks for appearing in the counseling process of the EWS category should be at least 164.
- BDS Trends: Closing ranks of government dental colleges under diverse categories for the previous year were in the range of around 16,000 to 30,000. So, probably, BDS seats under EWS category will be viable with NEET scores anywhere from 350 to 400, which may all depend on college and type of counseling round.
More precise information and better predictions can only be got by awaiting the state counseling notification and merit list release for the 2024 admission cycle.
If I have to prepare for MPH after BDS and for taking CUET PG exam, should I have to prepare for COQP 11 or COQP 19?
Hello,
When preparing for the CUET PG exam (Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate courses) after completing your BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) , you should focus on the COQP 19 (Common Question Paper 19), which is designed for medical, dental, and health science-related postgraduate courses.
Here’s why:
- COQP 11 is typically associated with subjects like B.Sc. (Hons.) and other science-based courses, and it's not tailored to the medical field.
- COQP 19 , on the other hand, is specifically for candidates who are aiming for medical and health-related postgraduate courses , including those who want to pursue MPH (Master of Public Health) , MDS (Master of Dental Surgery) , or other related fields.
Since you’re pursuing an MPH after BDS, your focus should be on COQP 19 because it’s more relevant to the type of questions that will appear on the exam for medical and public health courses. This will help you understand the types of subjects, question formats, and topics that are more likely to appear in the CUET PG exam for public health programs.
In addition, you may also need to review topics related to public health , epidemiology , health policy , and other relevant areas for the MPH program, as the exam will test both general aptitude and specific knowledge pertinent to your future course of study.
Hope it helps !
If I have to prepare for MPH after BDS and for taking CUET PG exam, should I have to prepare for COQP 11 or COQP 19?
If you want to prepare for the CUET PG exam for an MPH program then you should focus on the coqp 19 syllabus because it aligns better with requirements of a post graduate program in public health MPH .IT cover subjects like general aptitude research methodology and domains specific subjects related to the health science. COQP11 is mostly design for specific undergraduate program the may not be relevant as preparing for an mph program. The areas you have to focus for preparing for CUET PG is general aptitude and domains specific subjects like Public Health BIOSTATICS health economics ETC.Refer to the previous year question papers to understand the exam pattern better. i got admission in BDS in round 3(mopup) but i didnt reported i got banned from participating in bds admission for 3 years of knruhs is there will be a penalty and does it cause any problem if i want to take admission in mbbs next year
Hello student,
If you got banned from KNRUHS (Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences) for not reporting after accepting a BDS seat in the mop-up round , this ban generally applies to BDS admissions only. However, here are some important points to consider:
-
Penalty : Often, universities impose a penalty fee for not joining after seat allotment in mop-up rounds, as the seat remains unfilled. You may need to pay this to avoid issues in the future. Check with KNRUHS directly to confirm if there's a specific penalty amount.
-
Impact on MBBS Admission : The ban is usually specific to the BDS course at KNRUHS, so it may not affect your eligibility to apply for MBBS next year . However, ensure you follow all rules and guidelines for MBBS admissions and meet all reporting requirements if allotted a seat to avoid similar issues.
-
Official Clarification : To avoid complications, contact KNRUHS or review their official notification to understand the ban's exact scope and any penalties to ensure a smooth MBBS admission process next year.
I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.
Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.
Assam medical council doesnt accepts NIOS boards marksheet for ,bpharm, bsc nursing, and mbbs,BDS courses admission even after getting 600 marks in neet, please suggest me any colleges in any state of india which will accept NIOS boards marksheet for BDS and pharmacy courses.....
NIOS students are eligible to sit in NEET-UG so that he or she has right to get admission in any medical college through neet score, further if someone refrain you from admitting you then you can show the letter from MCI which states that NIOS students are eligible to join any medical college provided they satisfy other conditions.
It is directly challenging the Ministry of Human Resource and development, government of India as the NIOS is passed through a resolution (No. F.5-24/90 Sch.3 dated 14 September 1990 published in the Gazette of India on 20 October 1990). colleges who dont accept students from nios will have to face consequences.
Best wishes, if you have any further doubts feel free to message me I will be happy to assist you .
Hi I have category in NEET and my score is 360 can I get BDS set in mop up round? Atleast for 1 lakh per year
Hello Akshay,
With a score of 360, your chances of securing a seat in the mop-up round for BDS in private dental colleges appear feasible, particularly in states like Karnataka and Maharashtra, where the cutoffs are lower. While you may not secure a government college seat, focusing on private colleges with fees around 1 lakh is a good strategy.
Here are some private dental colleges where you might have a chance of getting a BDS seat for approximately 1 lakh per year:
-
KLE University, Belgaum, Karnataka:
-
Fee: Approximately 1.5 lakhs per year.
-
Previous Year Cutoff: Around 320-350.
-
-
Yenepoya University, Mangalore:
-
Fee: Approximately 1.2-1.5 lakhs per year.
-
Previous Year Cutoff: About 300-350.
-
-
Bharati Vidyapeeth Dental College, Pune:
-
Fee: Roughly 1.2-1.5 lakhs per year.
-
Previous Year Cutoff: Approximately 350-370.
-
-
Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai:
-
Fee: Approximately 1.5 lakhs per year.
-
Previous Year Cutoff: Around 350.
-
-
Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore:
-
Fee: About 1.5-2 lakhs per year.
-
Previous Year Cutoff: Generally above 370, but some seats might be available in mop-up round.
-
-
Chettinad Dental College, Tamil Nadu:
-
Fee: Approximately 1 lakh per year.
-
Previous Year Cutoff: Around 320-350.
-
Hope it helps !
what happened if I fail in all sub in bds 1 year
Hello,
In case you do not pass all subjects in the first year of BDS, then you are required to reappear for the exams for those subjects. Most of the universities give the opportunity to reappear for supplementary or compartment exams usually held a few months later, and so on. If you pass those supplementary exams, then you are free to move to the next year of your studies.
But in case you do not clear the subjects even in the supplementary exams, then you would certainly have to repeat the whole first year of BDS. It would mean again going to classes and appearing for all the first-year subjects' exams in the following academic year. Failure in all papers will also cause you to delay graduation while affecting your academic confidence; therefore, you need to reassess your approach to studying and seek help from professors and peers in improving performance in subsequent attempts.
