I scored 95.6% in CBSE 12th Board 2021 ( Biology stream ). Can I get admission in DU for BSc (hons) in Biomedical Sciences?
Hey M M,
Delhi University admissions are based on the merit only For Biomedical sciences the eligibility criteria are Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biochemistry/ Biotechnology have a combined grade point average of less than 60%. A minimum of 50% in English is required. Applicants who score 60% or higher in mathematics will receive a 2% aggregate advantage.

I want to become a biomedical scientist and work in India. What steps will have to follow in order to become a biomedical scientist. Do I have to crack NEET also? I havent decided any specific field in biomedical sciences yet. I am a class 11th student now studying in Himachal Pradesh.
Hi
In order to become a biomedical scientist, you don't have to give NEET exam
You can have any degree in biology field, if you are graduated in any field in bio (biotechnology is mostly suggested), you can further continue your studies by doing PhD, perform research and continue to work on it.
This field is vast, you will have enormous options ahead.
Best of luck

What is the scope for working abroad after completing Biomedical sciences in India?
In abroad you have a lot of scope in this field. If you can specialize in Imaging technology or the Medical robotics etc you will have plenty of scopes to work in countries like Japan, USA, Germany etc. So if you are interested then try to get the best college for your bachelors. If you want to go for Biomedical Engineering then try for IIT's or top universities in India. This will help you to build contacts with the abroad companies. Also you can get a research fellowship in abroad if you want to research in the field.
Thus, as I have mentioned you have plenty of scopes in India as well as abroad. All you have to do is to study and put your energy in the right direction.
I hope my answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!
What is the scope for biomedical sciences in India?
Biomedical Science is at the core of all the medical advancements in the Medical Technology. So as we are a vastly populated country we need to have a more facilities with more advanced infrastructure in healthcare. Thus if we can build the Biomedical instruments required to boost our healthcare system then it will be cheaper for us as well as convenient for us.
So you must be very sure that there are a lot of openings in the field in India which will grow with time. You can be in R&D sectors as well as the manufacturing units. From designing to manufacturing you can be a part of the vastly growing system.
Thus, don't feel doubt! If you are interested in the subject just pursue it and success will be there undoubtedly.

what is the difference between biomedical engineering and biomedical sciences?
Hello aspirant,
Generally, I guess biomedical engineering could require higher abilities in math, physics, chemistry, and so on. Besides, biomedical engineering could be regarded as using the engineering methods to solve medical problems.
Biomedical sciences could be “traditional”. Em.. my principle investigators in the lab, who graduated from Georgia tech, always uses this word to describe other labs in our medical school… e.g. other lab may knock out genes and use confocal to capture the change of protein distribution in the cell, and to conclude the existence protein interaction from the microscopic image; but our lab with engineering background may use single molecule technique to directly study the kinetics of protein interaction, inc. the association and dissociation rate and so on.
Hope this helps you
All the best for your future
