can I get ece in ssn my cutoff is 177 and I am obc/bc ?
Hello aspirant!!
As your cutoff is 177, you won't get a ECE seat in SSN.
The last year cutoff for BC category in SSN is as follows:
- Civil Engineering-181.5
- Chemical Engineering-186
- ECE-190
- EEE- 190
- MECHANICAL ENGINEERING-189
- IT - 190
- CSE-192
- BIO MEDICAL-189
You can also refer to the cutoffs of all the colleges in the previous year link provided in the official website of TNEA.
Refer those and choose the best colleges according to cutoff. Don't lose hope because 177 is a good cutoff and you will get a seat in a very good college,
Hope this information helps you.
Best of luck!!
Which branch of engineering would be on the easier side considering work load as I want to prepare for UPSC CSE alongside engineering?? Chemical Engineering or CSE...or any other branch??
Hi Aspirant... Hope you are doing well.
According to your question, I am expecting that you have a keen interest in UPSC rather than Engineering but for the safer side, you want to pursue engineering along with UPSC preparation. My answer depends upon factors like:
- You will work hard for UPSC.
- You will clear UPSC with a good rank.
Doing two things together is difficult especially in engineering where you have to learn things practically.
Opting for Chemical Engineering would be better if you are serious about UPSC preparation but for a safe career, you should pursue Computer science engineering as it has a good scope everywhere. Don't get confused.
Just do anyone properly and with full dedication.
All the best to your future.
Good luck:)
I got a rank of 2766 in viteee 2021 . someone please suggest me which branch of engineering should I choose for doing b tech in vit vellore campus so that I can have a better exposure to the hiring companies after completing my b tech. ??
Hello aspirant,
It seems that you are very concerned about your placement and there is no bad in it. As like you said you want the branch which have better exposure to the hiring companies than others, so looking at the current scenario I will recommend you to go for Computer Science branch or the branch which are very much similar to you like Information Technology and Computer science, Comp.Science Engg.(Spec.in Information Security) and Engg. (Specialisation in Bioinformatics), as these three computer science related branches are also available in VIT, Vellore.
With the rank you have mentioned, there is good chance that you can get the above branches without any hurdle. If you want to know the cutoff of these branches then you can use this link(Below) to see all recent years cutoffs of VIT, Vellore in detail. https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/viteee-cutoff
Other than Computer Science and the branches related to it, Electronics and Communication Engineering(ECE) also attracts the companies. Then comes Electrical Engineering and so on.
Hope it gives you the required idea.
All the best!
which branch in VIT Vellore can I get in category 1 at rank 13798?
Hi Pranav!
As per the previous records, you can get all the branches except CSE and IT in VIT Vellore campus. As to get CSE you must have atleast rank under 5000 for IT it must be under 9000. So, you can apply for other branches such as ECE, Civil, mechanical etc. in any campus or you can apply for CSE in Chennai campus. But if you do not get the required branch do not get disheartened you can sit for category 2 anytime.
Thankyou!

Is it worth to study Nuclear engineering? Where to study?
hi,
nuclear engineering is combination of chemical engineering and combining atomic nuclei, or with the application of other sub-atomic processes based on the principles of nuclear physics. however in india opportunity of nuclear engineer is very less. mostly the hiring done by bhaba atomic research center. however in coming years the demands of nuclear engineer would increase. the institute which offer b.tech course in nuclear engineering in india is as follows:
Amity School of Engineering, Noida
Mody University of Science and Technology, Lakshmangarh
since this is research oriented engineering course, most of the top institute like jadavpur university, iit bombay offers m.tech course on nuclear engineering.
I wanna go for civils prep after my graduation . which branch of engineering should i take in order to get most benefit . I have interest in chemical engineering and people say that it takes less effort than any other branches
Hi Buddy,
I would suggest you to take a branch which you'll enjoy to pursue since you should have time for prepare for civil service and BTech,
EEE, ECE and Mechanical are fields with a lot of scope in government sector,
But always give weightage to your own interest, You can also prefer Bsc if you are only aiming on Civil Service.
I Hope that will help.
Thank You!
