i scored 78%,95%,90%,90% in my highschool.i scored 1550 in my sat. how are my chances of getting into Carnegie Mellon university for undergraduation?? i know my sat is good but are my highschool grades good??
Hi,
Well there the admission criteria is very holistic and they consider the overall application including grades, motivation letter, sat or act scores and other scores, extra curricular, recommendation letter and complete application. So even if grades are off a bit other parts can make the application way too strong. Also your grades are pretty decent so go on and apply.
i have undergraduated in Carnegie Mellon university studying computer science as major and robotics as additional major. around how much will I get payed in us for what I have studied??
Hi,
Well payment in sense of salary can't be stipulated cause it depends on the organisation you are working for and also the designation that you will hold in that organization or company. Also bachelor students with undergraduate degree get payed less as compared to students with masters degree and further advanced degree. You can search for jobs via various mediums and usually the pay is mentioned in the details.
i scored 78%, 95%, 90%, 90% in my high school. i scored 1550 in my sat. how good are my chances of getting into Carnegie Mellon university for my undergraduation??
Hi Jathin!
Congrats on your score in SAT! Carnegie Mellon University, Pennsylvania, requires an average SAT Score from you to be placed there.
The Composite Mark of both Maths and Reading+Writing is taken as your SAT Score.
According to them the least SAT Score you got to have is 1460 and the above average score is considered to be 1560. So, from this the Average Score is 1510. But, your Score is more sufficient and nearing to above average.
So, you need not worry! Definitely you'll be placed as per the said norms by Carnegie Mellon University.
Hope this is helpful!
All the best!
i will be taking sat. i am interested in robotics and AI. i am looking into Carnegie Mellon university for my undergraduation. but it has robotics as an additional major. should I take [computer science as major and robotics as additional major] or [AI as major and robotics as additional major]??
I believe it is always preferred to major in a Core Engineering Subject, like Computer Science or Electronics than in any specialization like AI or Data Engineering. BS in CSE from Carnegie Mellon with specialization in Robotics will perhaps be the optimum combination for you, and will open a sea of career scope and prospects to you after Graduation. Though, I alert you this combination is going to be tough and you should be ready to give your heart.
i am in 11th grade. i will be taking sat. i am interested in robotics and AI. i have found out that Carnegie Mellon university good at robotics and AI for undergraduation. but it offers robotics as additional major. is it recommended to take AI as my main major and robotics as my additional major??
Yeah that will be a safer choice. If you major in Robotics then the spectra of job description gets reduced. But with AI you will have a more number of options in perspective to the job and having a additional major in Robotics will highlight your qualification. This will enable you to be job secure as well as pursuing your dream.
Have a great eve!
i am in 12th grade. i want to study computer science for undergraduation in US. i chose collages like Carnegie Mellon university, mit etc. how do i apply to those collages? from when do I apply? where can I find the applications?
Hello!
For getting admission into any undergraduate courses in top universities like Carneige Melon University and MIT, you will have to give standardized common admission tests, i.e SAT(Scholastic Aptitude Test) or ACT alongwith english proficiency tests like IELTS or TOEFL.
The scores you get in SAT/ACT help you in applying to universities in countries like USA, UK, Canada and Australia. The scores in TOEFL/IELTS are very important to prove that you can tolerate english as a medium of instruction, given that english is not your first language. Using your SAT/ACT and IELTS/TOEFL scores, you can apply to about 20 universities using the common application form by preparing a statement of purpose(SOP), portfolio(academic details, etc.) and otger important information. Your SAT scores can ensure you a scholarship if it is above 1300. You can apply for scholarship through FAFSA form. You also have to apply for a student VISA before you start your application process.
MIT is a top notch university, so there maybe a additional interview which is really tough. They do not accept SAT scores under 1550. And they also expect you to have hold international awards in olympiads or expostions if you want to take engineering courses.

What is the score required in GRE and TOEFL for Masters in Data science in Carnegie Mellon university?
Hi
There is no definite cutoff score. There is no assurance of getting an admit from CMU even if a student has a perfect score of 340. The decision depends on a variety of factors. A GRE score above 325 would be a decent bet for CMU. However, the GRE score needs to be complemented by a balanced profile, strong letters of recommendation and a well-written SOP
A good CGPA, relevant research projects and publications, internships, previous academic records, and work experience also contributes greatly.
As far as TOEFL is concerned, even the bare minimum should be enough. It is only a proof of your knowledge in English.
Hope this helps!
