Hey Indhumathi! B.com is undergraduate degree in commerce where as chartered accountant CA is professional courses having 3 level you have every level, it takes 4 years to give CA final examination if you clear your every exam in first attempt.
I would suggest you to choose b. Com honours if you want to make career in CA as subjects are almost same. But yes, CA demand high discipline and hard working because It's is a professional course and it demand high practice and knowledge of students to get perfection in each and every concepts and papers are also tough compare to B. Com
When you will prepare for CA, B. Com itself seems easy for you and it will be best courses doing along with CA.
You will notice the similarity of subjects in different semesters of B. Com and CA IPCC course and CA final Example : financial accounting, cost accounting, direct and indirect tax, corporate accounting, finanacial management, auditing these are courses you will study in different semesters of b. Com and in CA IPCC and some topic and subjects in CA final.
CA foundation is the entrance exam which is first level .All your 11th and 12th syllabus cover if your are from commerce stream in financial accounting and in maths for quantative aptitude.
Hope this helps

Hello there, Smrita. If you want to become a Chartered Accountant, then you need to qualify Chartered Accountant course under Institute of Chartered Accountant of India (ICAI). Here is the stepwise process of becoming a Chartered Accountant:
-CA Foundation: CA Foundation is the first level of becoming a CA. The CA Foundation Exam is an Entry Pass for the beginners for CA. The candidates will be eligible to take part in this examination just after their Class 12th. It is compuslory for the students to qualify CA Foundation Exam for taking admission in this course. CA Foundation Exam takes place twice in year, one in the month of May/June and another in the month of November/December. The students are given 4 months time to prepare for this examination. This means that the registration for May/June examination gets closed in the month of January-February only.
-CA Intermediate: As soon as the student qualifies the CA Foundation Examination, he/she becomes eligible to enroll himself/herself for CA Intermediate. CA Intermediate is the second phase of becoming a CA. The students are given a time period of 8 months to prepare for this examination.
-Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (ICITSS): After sitting in the CA Intermediate Examination, the students will have to go through a 100 hours of Infomation Technology Training Program and Orientation Program which is conducted for a period of one week. As it takes more than 2 months for ICAI to publish the results of CA Intermediate, so the students may complete this procedure during the gap time.
-Articleship: Once the students have passed CA Intermediate, then they are allowed to do Articleship. According to the rules of ICAI, it is compuslory for the students to do Articleship for a period of 3 years just after qualifying the CA Intermediate Examination. Therefore, the students need to work under a well qualified CA for 3 years in order to gain practical experiences.
-Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills: As per the rules of ICAI, the students have to complete 100 hours of Advanced training program. Students can take part in this program just after completing the 1st year of their articleship.
-CA Final: After taking the Advanced Integrated Course, the students will be able to take part in the CA Final Examaniation. The students can take part in this examination during the last 6 months of their Articleship training. After successfully qualifying in the examination, you will now be a qualified CA, either you can work in your CA firm, or be a part of a major business consulting company.
So that was the process of becoming a CA. In case of more queries, feel free to mention. All the best.
Hi yash,
Yes you join mba despite dropping CA. But to get into any management college you need complete your graduation in any of the domain you wish to pursue. It could be a regular recognised well established University like DELHI UNIVERSITY, AMITY UNIVERSITY or correspondence like IGNUE, DELHI UNIVERSITY.
wish you good luck.
Dera Yash,
If you are from science background you cannot join CA and if you are from commerce then you cannot join CS so irrespective of your stream. Choose wisely and also for doing MBA you just have to have a graduation discipline.
I hope you got your answer.
Good luck.
Dear Sushmita, there are two things to it. You are still in the process of filling in the application form. In such case, as long as you haven't submitted the application form, you can go back and make the necessary changes. But for that option, the application filling process has been closed. The other thing is you have submitted the application form and then realised the mistake in the form. Unfortunately the correction window has been closed and you cannot edit the application form any more. Sorry to disappoint you but there is nothing that can be done at this point in time.
