I am unable to decide what I need to do now. My question is, See, now actually, I am preparing for JEE mains, but I want to opt for BSc in Chemistry in my future, but no NIT offers BSc in Chemistry, or could you please say is it better to join BSc in Chemistry and then after doing MSc in some NITs, but now as BSc in Chemistry doesnot offer any NIT, is it ok to join BSc in Chemistry, will it offer you a better future or not?If okay what colleges are best
There are various IIT that offer b.sc in chemistry program after you clear the jee mains exam. And for those candidates who are willing to pursue PG integrated program such as b.sc - m.sc ,then in that case it is required to clear jee mains and jee advanced both followed by JoSAA Counseling. Some of the best colleges for b.sc chemistry are B.sc in chemistry - course , eligibility and colleges details

Hello aspirant,
Chemistry was marked as additional, and you did not pass it, so you may need to retake the exam. To be eligible for NEET, you must pass all three core subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology). with a minimum of 40% marks for a OBC candidate. If you do not pass Chemistry, you may be unable to sit for NEET until you clear that subject
Because Chemistry is a fundamental subject for NEET, you should pass the Chemistry exam (by re-test or additional exam). To be eligible for NEET, you must pass all of your core subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology).
Confirm the status of your Chemistry subject with your school or board. If it was designated as additional and you did not pass, enquire about how to clear it (for example, through a supplementary or re-test).
Once you have completed all of the needed topics (including Chemistry), you will be able to take the NEET 2025. Make sure you meet the minimum aggregate marks necessary for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology together.
NEET (National Eligibility and Entrance Test) is a national-level entrance exam in India for undergraduate medical courses (MBBS, BDS, and other associated degrees) in medical colleges around the country. The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers NEET, which is a very important entrance test for aspiring medical students.
The minimum marks required in Class 12 are:
- General category: At least 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology combined.
- OBC/SC/ST categories: At least 40% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology combined.

The chapters on 3D geometry and vectors are important and have a good weightage in the JEE exams:
JEE Main: 3D geometry and vectors contribute 15% to the syllabus. These chapters require a strong understanding of spatial reasoning and vector operations.
JEE Advanced: Vector and 3D has an 11% weightage in the JEE Advanced syllabus.
IIT JEE Mathematics: Vectors are considered an important topic and are similar in weightage to coordinate geometry.
You should go for NCERT solutions for 3d
my 12th overall percentage was 45% but in physics I got 56,chemistry 44 and biology 54 can I get admission in mbbs through neet
Hi Shubha,
To get admission in MBBS through NEET, your eligibility is determined mainly by your overall academic performance, particularly in your 12th-grade subjects, and your NEET score. Here's how it works based on your academic record:
Eligibility Criteria for NEET Admission
1. Minimum Percentage in 12th Grade:
- For General category students, you normally need a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology put together in your 12th-grade exams.
- For SC/ST/OBC candidates, the aggregate is 40%.
- Your overall percentage of 45% is below the minimum requirement for general category candidates. However, if you're from a reserved category, you may still qualify for NEET eligibility as long as you meet the category-specific requirement.
2. Subject-Specific Marks:
- Physics-56%, Chemistry-44%, and Biology-54% marks look fairly alright for NEET eligibility so far, provided your aggregate is above the cutoff as of your category.
The score in Biology is satisfactory for NEET eligibility.
3. NEET Examination:
- NEET eligibility does not rely on your board percentage. You are eligible for NEET if you meet the minimum aggregate marks in your 12th subjects.
- Your NEET score will be the determining factor after you get your score in securing a seat in MBBS.
What You Can Do
- If you come from a reserved category SC/ST/OBC, even then, you may be entitled to appear for NEET and be considered for the admissions.
- Coming from the General category, you'd have to pursue other routes like that of reattempting 12th class to get an improved aggregate marks or go for other medical entrance tests whose eligibility criteria differ
Conclusion:
If you are from a reserved category and get the marks that fulfill the eligibility criteria for NEET, then you are eligible to give the NEET exam. But if you belong to the General category, then the percentage in your 12th grade might not fulfill the eligibility criteria for NEET. Check the official NEET guidelines for the latest and accurate eligibility criteria for your category.
Hello I am IB student and I am and I appear for NIOS on demand exam. For which I have to take 2 TOC and give 3 subject exam. MY IB subject marks are hindi-4, bio-3, chemistry-2, phys-3, maths-3 , english-3. Which subject should I take TOC and which subject should I give on demand exam? I am NEET Dropper.
Hi Honey,
As an IB student giving the NIOS on-demand exam and opting for Transfer of Credit, it is important to select the subjects wisely as in accordance with your aspirations in NEET. Here is the step to take the correct call:
Subjects for Transfer of Credit (TOC)
The subject can be transferred to their account with up to two subjects where they have really performed well. According to their IB marks, it has been considered good selections for TOC as listed below:
Hindi (4): As it’s your highest score, transferring this credit ensures you can focus on NEET-related subjects.
English (3): Since language subjects are not required for NEET, transferring English is logical and reduces your workload.
Subjects for On-Demand Examination
To become eligible for NEET, you must have scored at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English in the 12th-grade equivalent (40% for reserved categories). Considering your scores and concentration on NEET, for NIOS you have to choose following:
Biology (3): It is biology-saturated for NEET so make a strong base, prepare hard for this particular subject.
Chemistry (2): It is definitely required for NEET. Score well on this subject.
Mathematics/Physics (3): Pick one according to your convenience and capability. If you find it easier, it can actually complement your scores and cut down your workload. Else, physics is part and parcel of NEET, so put it first if needed.
Plan
Focus on Core Subjects for NEET:
Be fully prepared for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. All these are the pillars to success in NEET.
Use TOC Smartly: Transferring Hindi and English saves time and keeps you focused on science subjects.
Plan Your Study Schedule:
Spend 50% of your study hours on Biology because it carries significant weightage in NEET.
Divide the remaining hours between Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics.
Steps to Follow
Apply for NIOS On-Demand Examination: Select Biology, Chemistry, and Physics/Mathematics as subjects for the on-demand exams.
Apply for TOC: Add your Hindi and English IB scores.
Study Strategically:
Biology: Refer to NCERT books for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Solve NEET-oriented questions and previous years' papers.
You can now better streamline your preparation and enhance eligibility by focusing on NEET subjects in your NIOS exams and using TOC for non-NEET subjects.
Is it possible to take MO Optometry after BSc Chemistry?
Unfortunately, no you cannot do that, you need a B.Sc. in Optometry or MBBS from an institute recognized by the Medical Council of India for MO Optometry. I passed in NIOS chemistry but I want improvement exam do i have to give practicals also even though they are good already or is only theory exam fine
No, it is not necessary to give practical exam again. If you passed and have get good marks in practical, then you can only give theory exam to improve your score. The previous practical marks will be carried forward and accounted for and students will appear in the theory exam only.
I belong to ews category, male candidate, home state Karnatak. I need ece branch in NITK.How much shall i aim safe score in maths, phy, chemistry of jee mains 2025 individually for good ranking.
Talking about NIT K , is one among the top engineering institutions in India , so the expected cutoffs are also high
Considering that you are from EWS category and from HOME STATE here are the following cutoffs from all rounds . basically its starts from 1200 rank to 7000 rank .
there is no sectional cut-off for Maths and Physics in NITs, including NIT K the JEE Main cutoff for admission to NITs is calculated based on the overall aggregate marks across all three subjects (Maths, Physics, and Chemistry) without any separate sectional cut-off for individual subjects.
In JEE MAINS 2025 , how much i need to score individual in maths, physics and chemistry in my mocks?Like there is some conditions right in ranking first maths, then physics then chemistry.... I belong to ews category, male candidate and home state Karnatak. Tell me the scores i need ece at nitk
Hello,
To secure ECE at NITK (NIT Surathkal) under the EWS category (male, home state), you should focus on the following:
1. Target Percentile:
- Aim for 99+ percentile overall in JEE Mains.
2. Subject-wise Percentile Goals:
- Mathematics: Secure at least 95-97+ percentile. As mathematics often acts as a tiebreaker, prioritize this.
- Physics: Target 92-95+ percentile. Physics typically has moderate weight in ranking tiebreakers.
- Chemistry: Maintain 90-92+ percentile. Focus on NCERT and scoring topics.
3. Mock Test Scores:
- Mathematics: 65–75 marks out of 100.
- Physics: 55–65 marks out of 100.
- Chemistry: 50–60 marks out of 100.
4. Final Score Goal:
- An overall score of 200–220/300 in JEE Mains is realistic for ECE at NITK under the EWS category, considering trends.
Hope it helps !
