Hello Im from Delhi. I got 6.6 cgpa in 10th and 87% in 12th with arts.can I get admission in du?
Admission for the undergraduate courses in the University of Delhi is based on the marks scored in 12th. See,the cutoff is subjected to variation every year depending upon the performance of the candidates in the board examination. The University of Delhi does not take into consideration, the percentage score of class 10th.
However, for most of the good colleges the cutoff goes as high as 98 percent. And a general cutoff remains 92 percent or so.
However, you can get colleges in the subsequent rounds of cutoff but not in any good College.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
I have scored 89% in 10th and 79.8%in 12th ,I am a obc also so can I get admission in any college for doing B.tech or B.sc??
Yes, of course! The minimum criteria is 75% only. You can surely apply for B. Tech and B.Sc. entrance exams or you may get direct admission in some colleges. For B. Sc( hons.), you can take the entrance tests of many good colleges and universities who admit students on the basis of entrance tests only.
You can also prepare for the JEE which is an All India Engineering entrance exam. If you score well, you can pursue B.Tech from a reputed NIT or IIT. 12th board marks are not considered now for deciding the rank of students in JEE.
You may like to drop a year for preparing for this prestigious exam if you really wish to study in a good college or there are some good private colleges having excellent academic and placement records. You can apply for them also.
Hope this helped! All the best and let me know if you have further queries.
Hello.reply me..my jee main percentile is 66.my HSC percentage is 80.can I got anyone seat in NIT trichy?
I'm assuming you're a general category student as you haven't mentioned any specific category.
With 66 percentile you won't get into any NIT.
Even cutoff for advanced is 89.75 percentile.
Also you've more than 75% percent in boards so how much above 75% doesn't matter.
You can use the college predictor to expect which all colleges you can get into using your JEE Main score:

Best of luck!
I have 10th 84 percentage 12th 86 percrntage bachelore in geology 78 percentage 84percentage in master gelogy from iit kharagpur 3year job i
Dear Avinash,
First of all a big congrtulations to you on securing such great percentages in all your exams. You are at advantage than other candidate as you have some different brach. In addition to it you have 3 years of work experience. Your scores in 10th and 12th is also reasonably good. You stand a pretty much chances to convert IIM Bangalore if you score in CAT around 99 percentile.(General, if OBC - 95+ and SC/ST - 85+). Because for 3 years of work experience your getting 8 marks directly to eligible for a call of WAT (Written Ability Test) and Personal Interview. Following are the criteria for IIM Bangalore and they are in much detail so please go through it once and prepare like it only.
Step 1 : Section wise CAT Percentile Cutoffs
General - 85 (QA - 75 , DILR - 75 , VA - 80)
OBC - 75 (QA - 65 , DILR - 65 , VA - 70)
SC - 70 (QA - 60 , DILR - 60 , VA - 65)
ST - 65 (QA - 55 , DILR - 55 , VA - 55)
PWD - 60 (QA - 50 , DILR - 50 , VA - 50)
Step 2 : For the first shortlist they also consider 10th, 12th scores, your work ex score, according to following matrix
CAT - 40% (VA- 14, DILR - 16, QA-10)
10th Board - 20%
12th Board - 10%
Bachelors - 20%
Gender Diversity - 2%
Work Experience - 8%
Step 3 : According to above criterial candidates are called for Interview and Written ability Test
Step 4 :Different weigtage given to all the stages
WAT Score - 10%
Personal Interview - 30%
CAT - 25%
10th Board - 10%
12th Board - 5%
Bachelors - 10%
Weighted Work Experience - 10%
Step 5 : The final offeres to the candidates made strictly on the aggreagte score obtained in Step 4 as per all the criteria.
As I have mentioned earlier ,IIM Bangalore follows really a rigourous process. once the CAT is over and if you get a Call for personal interview and Written Ability Test than you stand a really high chance to convert it because they give 30% weightage to Personal interview.
In addition to above criteria, Please be clear with your Goals in future such as Why do you want to do MBA after Master in Geology. They should be interconnected. There should be some specific reason behind choosing Masters too. Be clear with your goals and you have IIT tag, you will easily sail throug if you manage to get required percentile.
Hope I answered your query in detail. If you have any further query you can comment here too. All the best for your future. If you liked my answer you can upvote it.

Hey nikhil! Thanks for contacting careers 360.
Congrats on getting good scores.
Earlier, the fms used to have a cutoff on the basis of it's own test. But now the fms cutoff is based on the cat score. The fms cutoff is used to shortlist candidates for group discussion and personal interviews before admission.
The fms cutoff score has increased to 99 Percentile score in the cat.

Wish you all the best!
95% 10th/ 91% 12th/ 6.7 gpa in NIT/ 80% in CAT/ ST category,6 months work exp,got calls frm IIMB, new & baby iims? My chances of conversion?
Hi Vivek!
You have a pretty decent score in both your school and BE and that itself has played a major role in making you get calls from all the IIMs. Since you have not mentioned the category you belong to, it gives a boost considering the fact that the admission would be based only on the pool of candidates in the same category as yours.
First of all, the basic eligibility for CAT is 50% in your graduation and you are in the safe harbor. Getting into an IIM is a different story though. Each IIMs have their own admission criteria and vary accordingly, and the weight given to CAT percentile is also different. Some colleges like IIM Bangalore depend heavily on your academics, which in your case is pretty high, but other IIMs like IIM-Calcutta go easy on the academics and weigh heavily on the CAT.
Since you've got all the calls right now and going by the previous year trends, it is pretty evident that you'd easily convert most of the calls, especially the older IIMs given that you do your WAT/PI very well. All that said, I assume you know the cutthroat competition by now and thus it is not advisable to sit back and relax while waiting for the admission. The game has just begun because irrespective of the category, the students who apply are highly deserving and they will make sure they stand tall while performing in the interviews.
That being said, once you get a call from the IIMs, another obstacle to cross is the PI-WAT. Again, it depends upon different IIMs. Some IIMs like IIM Bangalore and IIM Indore give very less weight for your CAT percentile ( a mere 25%) and others like IIM Udaipur give 55% to your CAT score while calculating your composite score for the final admission. Thus scoring high only in CAT doesn't guarantee a seat and the real game begins only after that. Please spend an ample amount of time reading current affairs, your degree syllabus, your aspirations in life and also about how you will contribute to your peers if you get admission.
Good luck belling the CAT! Feel free to drop in your queries.
Can I get a seat in B.A (Hons) Economics at Panjab University.? I belong to ST category. Please let me know is there any chance.?
Hello Rohith,
The admission process is based on merit list. The criteria states that, " A candidate who have passed 10+2 and have 50% marks in B.A firstyear are eligible for this course."
