I can get 89.60 per in SSC board and my cast is OBC can I get admission in government polytechnic nagpur for computer engineering branch

OISHEE BANERJEE 13th Jun, 2025

Hello aspirant, good morning!

With 89.60 percent in your SSC board exams and belonging to the OBC category, your chances of getting admission into Government Polytechnic Nagpur for the Computer Engineering branch are quite good. This college is one of the top choices for diploma courses in Maharashtra, and it sees a lot of competition, especially for branches like Computer Engineering.

The admission process is conducted through the DTE Maharashtra Centralized Admission Process based on SSC marks. In previous years, the cutoffs for the Computer Engineering branch in this college have been around 85 to 90 percent depending on the category and the number of applicants. Since your score is on the higher side and also have OBC reservation, there is a strong chance for you in this course.

However, do keep in mind that cutoffs can vary slightly every year depending on the demand and the number of seats. It’s important to fill in the CAP form carefully and include multiple options in your preference list. Also, participate in all CAP rounds to increase your chances. Even if you don’t get Computer Engineering in the first round, you can get it in later rounds if some students withdraw or move to other options.

To stay safe, you can also keep some other related branches like Information Technology or Electronics and Telecommunication as backup choices. But overall, with your marks and category, you definitely have a realistic shot at getting Computer Engineering at Government Polytechnic Nagpur.

All the best for your counselling and admission process. Hope you get the branch and college you’re aiming for. Happy studying!
