Admission process for ug courses commences with release of pre-enrollment form in Mumbai University, and this is further followed by submission of form, release of merit list, document verification, and fee payment, since the admission portal is closed, hence it's not possible to take admission for this session, you may have to try for next year, else look out for options through distance mode of universities for which admission is open as of now.

Yes many students have completed their B.Tech and M.Tech from different branches.

Many students appear in the Gate exam in different branches.Someone gives the gate exam in CS branch whether he/she has completed B.Tech in Civil/Mechanical engineering.

So if you give gate exam in different branch then you can do M.Tech in that particular branch.

In the process of learning a new language let me tell you that, C tops the list, while C++ is fourth. Students studying Mechanical Engineering can use C/C++ programming to design the various mechanical parts such as knuckle joint, couplings etc. as they have to calculate all stresses and determine the dimension, also they need to check them for various failures.

FORTRAN is No. 21 and Matlab is nowhere to be seen.

C is especially useful for mechanical engineers because it is the language of choice for hardware interfaces, and commonly used for data acquisition and real-time robotic control.
