If a candidate wasted his 3 years chance of appearing for his jee main and registered for the 4th year in jee main and gave exam . will his marks be valid for jac counseling and other colleges which accept jee main score other than colleges under Jossa counseling and CSAB counseling ??
Hello aspirant,
I hope that you are doing absolutely great.
With reference to your above mentioned query, i would like to tell you that The NTA(National testing Agency) has mentioned clearly in the brochure that every candidates are allowed to appear for only 3 times in JEE mains examination adn only 2 time in JEE advanced examination. So, I am sorry to say that you cannot appear for JEE mains exam for the 4th time.
Further, if you wish to know more about the JEE mains 2022 and about the JEE mains counselling, then you can read the below articles to know more : https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-2022 https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-counselling
I hope that this will help.
If someone has wasted his 3 years of jee main attempt and he filled form for the 4th year. will his form accepted or form regected ? will he be able to appear foe the exam for the 4th time as he is targeting CSAB counseling and other counseling which requires jee main marks ??
Dear aspirant,
No, you are not eligible for the 4th attempt of jee mains because it is mentioned in the brochure that you can give jee mains consecutively for three years and not more than that.
Jee advanced can be given consecutively only for two years.

difference between Jossa and CSAB counselling
Hi aspirant,
Both Jossa and all CSAB are the counselling conducting authorities based on the candidates performance in the JEE main and advanced examination. However there are some significant difference between two. Jossa conducts counselling to offer seats in NIT, IIT, IIIT and GIFT colleges. In Jossa counselling various reservation and categories are taken into consideration.
CSAB counselling is conducted only once the Jossa counselling is over and only vacant seats are available for grabs. In this counselling only CRL rank is taken into consideration for seat allotment.
Also it is very important to know that most of the seats are filled during the Jossa counselling only and number of seats available in the later one is very less.

difference between JOSSA and CSAB ??
Dear Aspirant!!
The JoSSA counselling stands for Joint Seat Allocation Authority and the CSAB stands for Central Seat Allocation Board. Now the function of CSAB begins after JoSSA, as the following steps take place
- After you qualify JEE Mains and JEE Advanced you are eligible for JoSSA counselling
- You are alloted seats to IITs, NITs
- If you do not receive a seat through JoSSA there is another round conducted by CSAB ( eligibility remains same as JoSSA)
- You seat allocation will happen.
Hope it helps!!!
what is JOSAA and CSAB ? what is role of them ? which counselling provide govt college ?
HI reader,
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has been set up by the Ministry of Education to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions to 114 institutes . This includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs and 33 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs).
A Central Counselling Board (CCB) constituted by the Govt. of India coordinated admissions to UG degree programmes in engineering, technology and architecture in respect of selected institutes till 2012. From 2013 onwards, CCB and AIEEE have been renamed as Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) and JEE (Main) respectively.
JOSAA conducts counselling for 6 rounds for admission in colleges while CSAB conducts special round counselling for seats remaining in JOSAA counselling.

The steps for counselling of JEE Mains are :-

Step 3 :- Seat Allotment.
Step 4 :- Payment of Fees and Seat Acceptance.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is conducting the counselling process for candidates who have qualified for JEE Main and/or JEE Advanced.
Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB), earlier known as Central Counselling Board (CCB), is constituted by the Government of India to coordinate admissions to UG degree programmes in engineering, technology and architecture in NITs, IIESTs, IITs and GFTIs.

I am participating csab counseling but not allow to College in first rounds I exit the counseling my fee is not refunding
Dear aspirant,
The csab counselling charges a fee of 2000 and you need to pay 35000 in addition to that if you are a general /obc/ews category student or 17000 for sc/st category student.
But if you didn't get a seat in the csab round then you will be refunded after a deduction of 2000 from the fee within 1 week from the day when the counselling ends.
For more information you can check out the link given below-
sir mera josaa me seat acceptance fee pay kar di thi bat uske bad me mene csab me bhi participate hua to muje seat allote nahi hue to fee refund kab tak hogi.
If you have retracted the application before the starting of the course, then as per the JOSAA counselling the fees will be refunded to you with a deduction not more than Rs. 1k from the institute. But there are no time periods available about the refund.
