The number of PG slots in MD and MS programmes was raised in the previous year. These seats will be available for the next 2020-21 academic year. The Board of Governors of the Medical Council of India (MCI BOG) has granted approval for this raise in the salary of its members.

Prof Dr VK Paul, the Chairman of the Medical Council of India Board of Governors, made the announcement to PTI. According to the article, the total number of PG medical seats would increase to 36,192 as a result of this permission. As we all know, the All India Quota NEET PG Counseling process is now underway.

This announcement has made all MBBS graduates who would be participating in NEET PG 2020 counselling at different levels feel very relieved and excited. The reason is straightforward: there will be 36,192 PG medical seats (MD/MS) available in main disciplines for the new academic session 2020-21 counselling.
