Is the course atmospheric physics is under Earth sciences in cucet
Hi aspirant, the answer of your question is Yes, the Department of Atmospheric Science was established in 2016 under the School of Earth Sciences. It offers both M. Sc. and Ph. D. programs. The objectives of the programs are to promote interdisciplinary research in science and technology. It encompasses numerical modeling of atmosphere and ocean, climate modeling, monsoons, and high impact severe weather forecasting to understand its physical and social consequences. The department is developing collaborations at National and International levels.
Thank You.
Are Msc. environmental sciences post graduates eligible for UPSC geoscientist exam? Earth sciences is mentioned in the eligibility criteria but environmental sciences is not.
Hello Aspirant,
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) administers a Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination (CGGE) for hiring and a nomination for the job of Geologist, Geophysicist and Chemist Group 'A' in Geological Survey of India and Junior Hydro-geologist (Scientist 'B'), Group 'A' for Central Ground Water Board.
Suitability norms
Geologists Gr ‘A’
- Masters Degree holder in subjects like Geological Science or Geology or Geo-Exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource management Management and Coastal Areas Studies or Petroleum Geosciences or Petroleum Exploration or Geochemistry or Geological Technology from UGC identified university.
For Geophysicists Gr ‘A’
- Masters Degree holder in subjects like Physics or Applied Physics or Geophysics or Integrated M.Sc. Exploration Geophysics or Applied Geophysics or Marine Geophysics or M.Sc (Tech.) Applied Geophysics from a UGC-identified institution.
For Chemists Gr ‘A’
- Masters degree holder in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry from UGC identified institution.
For Junior Hydrogeologists (Scientist-B) Group ‘A’
- M.Sc degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology or Hydrogeology from a UGC-identified institution.
M.Sc Environmental Science degree holders are not eligible for this exam.
I hope it helps.
Thank you.
I have done BSc(hons) in Earth sciences. But in the cat form these subject has not been mentioned, rather there are options like sciences and others.. So with which option should I go for?
Hello dear
So as you have done B.sc in earth science it comes under science discipline whether let it be in any stream , as it is B.sc it is in science category .
So you can choose sciences as the graduation level category in CAT Application Form
Hope its helpful

Good luck
which university in india provides all the Earth sciences,i.e. Geology, Climatology, Meteorology, Oceanography, in one single course at graduation
A number of specified courses come under the earth and marine sciences umbrella;these being geology, environmental engineering, oceanography, marine geography and geophysics, but at its core, this degree involves the study of the earth's structure, dynamics, oceans, and planets. The aim of this degree is to understand how the earth's resources are used and how sustainable of these resources can be developed in the future.

Hello Sir/Maam. I am currently in Grade 10th and I am preparing for NEET 2023. I have interest in Biology as well as in Phy & Chems. But I aint having a vibe of becoming a doctor, I wanna become a researcher in other fields. I was applying for scholarships but I am confused. Can u help pls?
Hello,
You are right now in class 10th. Then you are giving board examination this year. So it's high to decided what you are in future. You are preparing for NEET 2023 which is good. But you said you don't want to be a doctor. So why you are preparing for NEET. If you want to researcher in future it's great. So just think now what you have to research like which department you have to choose for research. So many fields are there for research.
Like if you are go for Bpharm then you have to chance research in medicine, if you go for biotechnology or microbiology then also go for research in higher authorities. If you go for engineering for aerospace Science you can also be resercher in this field. So think what you want.
All the best.
I am currently studying in 12th. After the completion of 12th, I want to study integrated B.Sc + M.Sc . Recommend me some top colleges offering integrated B.Sc + M.Sc in Astrophysics and Earth Sciences .
hi,
Indian institute of science bangalore has 5 years integrated bs+ms course on Earth & Environmental Sciences,Biology, Chemistry, Materials, Mathematics, and Physics. admission is based on kvpy, scb channel or jee main exam score. this is the best institute for integrated course on earth science.
however since there is fewer colleges is available for integrated course, you have to do bsc first , then you may go for msc course in astrophysics or earth science course.
I have completed my UG course in Integrated msc(physics).so I want to change my course to earth sciences in my PG level.so is it possible to get.?
Hi Dear,
As per the details given, If you have completed MSC in Physics then you have alreasy done your Post graduation in physics. To be eligible for M.Sc. in Earth Science the minimum qualification for a student is a B.Sc. in Geology or related. Since you have done your graduation in physics you cannot go for masters from earth science.

There are some niche science courses like Earth Sciences, Astrophysics, Astronomy, Space Sciences & Gravitational Sciences Etc. Can you tell us about four-five these niche sciences, You think will have future moving a head?
These all are very exciting areas, To work an Astronomy, Astrophysics, Earth Sciences. Earth Sciences include right from ground which is responsible for the Onset of Monsoon and stratosphere which saves us from Ozone radiation. These all are the exciting sciences, There are few institution in this country where student can pursue their Master courses in Astronomy & Astrophysics then they can pursue their research from Indian Institute of Research in Bangalore also there is one IUCAA located in Pune University that is inter university Center on Astronomy & Astrophysics so there are opportunities that will take people to the top.
