Chytridiomycota is the type of fungi which are mostly aquatic but some live on land. They can be parasitic as well as saprophytic. They reproduce sexually as well as asexually. By reproduction they forms zoospores. They are generally unicellular with chitinous cell wall.

On the other  hand Ascomycota also known as sac fungi. They reproduce asexually which produces conidiophores. They are filamentous in nature and produce hyphae.

The minimum criterion of eligibility needed to be fulfilled for pursuance of the course is a 10+2 qualification. see the eligibility criteria for gate exam is candidates need to have bachelors degree of 4 years in technology or in relevant field or 2 years  masters course in relevant discipline. however students who are in final year of their bachelors or masters course are eligible to apply. so I suggest you to give your masters course as latest degree. since you have bachelors course of 3 years duration I guess, you have to give msc course as your latest qualification.
