I have got applied electronics and instrumentation engineering in Haldia Institute of Technology in first round of WBJEE counselling, if I opt for upgradation which branches can I get in round 2??? My GMR rank is 18354.
Hi
It is difficult to predict because cut off keeps changing every year depending upon a number of factors like
--------) number of students that appeared in the WBJEE exam
--------)difficulty level of the WBJEE examination
--------)Kind of marks obtained by the students in the WBJEE exam
--------) number of students from different categories etc
But yes,
With your 18354 general rank , considering your category as general
In Haldia Institute of Technology, Haldia, Purba Medinipur , in upgradation you have chances in following branches in round 2 :-
-
Computer Science & Engineering (Artificial Intelligence And Machine Learning):-39600
-
Computer Science & Engineering/ Computer Science & Technology:-19583
-
Computer Science & Engineering (Cyber Security):-68192
And a few more
As per 2020, round 2 wbjee cut off available at Official website :- https://admissions.nic.in/wbjeebcouns2019/wbjeebcouns2019/orcr/PrevYearORCR.aspx

Should I opt for CS Engineering in some Pune based colleges like D Y Patil, MIT WPU and vishkwakarma or I should go Manipal university main campus for electronics and instrumentation engineering? what should i opt respective of all the aspects be it exposure studies placement s?
I would suggest you to pursue CSE in some of the Good Engineering Colleges in Pune, like DY Patil, MIT WPU, VIT Pune and many others like I2IT Pune. Colleges in Pune have a huge locational advantage, with Navi Mumbai-Pune turning into India's 3rd Technology Cluster after Bengaluru-Hyderabad and Gurgaon-Noida. You definitely have access to best placements, projects and internships with many MnCs being located in Pune.

Is EIE (Electronics and Instrumentation engineering) good option from MIT Manipal? Does it offer good salary package both in private and government sector?
If you look at EIE as a whole it is a good branch. An amalgamation of EEE and ECE makes it a perfect branch to learn electronics as well as instrumentation subjects such as control systems, biomedical instrumentation, control instrumentation, and so on. During the 4-year course, you will learn a mixture of subjects which is a plus. Why? Because it will open the doors for numerous Job opportunities.
Speaking about placements, Manipal has a good placement record.
Core companies like Schnider Electric, ABB, L&T, GE, Honeywell, Mahindra, and many more visit the company.
There are also internships offered to students during the ongoing course which are later converted to full-time employment.
All-in-all Manipal offers students numerous opportunities ( specifically job-related), and also the facilities are exemplary, therefore, there will be no regrets there.
But, If you are specifically looking for a government job as an EIE engineer, you most probably will have to apply off-campus.
Joining a private company with EIE might not be the best choice if you have a keen interest in EIE. You might as well opt for CSE in that case.
The average base pay of an EIE engineer is 60k/month. Now, this may vary for private companies. Private companies will pay lesser. Your initial package should be around 3-4lacs per annum.
Speaking about PSU's that recruit EIE engineers (you'll have to qualify GATE to get placed here)
IOCL,
ONGC,
BHEL,
HPCL,
I hope this helps!
Thank you!
i pirsuing diploma in Applied electronics and instrumentation engineering ,after ECET can i change my branch to computer science and engineering
Dear leaner,
As many students wishes the same changing the group, yes you can ,but the only drawback will be lacking in basics ,if you are the someone that grasps very fast it will be quite suitable for changing any group ,if not it's ok even tortoise wins the race ,it's better to consider your passion even it's risky rather than choosing dumb .
All the best.
What are the top colleges for admission to B.Tech in electronics and instrumentation engineering??
Difference between BE in Electronics and instrumentation engineering and B tech in Electronics and instrumentation engineering? Which is best ? Which has more job opportunities?
Hello,
Firstly before telling you the answer you need to understand what is exactly different about BE and BTech.
Both BE and BTech cater to theory as well as practical, however, BTech deals more with fundamentals and advanced study in a particular area, while BE stops at fundamental education. The difference is more in the way of delivering the subjects.
- B. Tech emphasizes more on practical application, while B.E. program concentrates more on the theoretical knowledge that is applied to develop equipment and gadgets in the field of science and technology.
- They both have same syllabus like 50% is same. BE would have less practical than BTech.
As BTech is more preferable in job oriented industry and Be is less preferred. But both are same.
So if you are interested in practical than theory opt for B.tech and less practical then go for BE.
Hope this helps!!!
Is there BE in Electronics and instrumentation engineering AVAILABLE on iit ,nit ,vit ? I heard that in iit there is no bachelor degree in Electronics and instrumentation engineering only Master degree is AVAILABLE ...true?
Many IITs, NITs and Well as Reputed Institutes like BITS Pilani and State Engineering Colleges have Instrumentation/EIE Courses.
As far as IITs are Concerned, only IIT Kharagpur has a B.Tech Program in Instrumentation Engineering. Most of the Top NITs like Trichy, Rourkela have Electronics and Insturmentation/ Instrumentation and Control Courses. Among Private Universities, BITS Pilani followed by MIT Manipal are two of the best Engineering Destinations for the above branch.
