For MET 2026, I want to know what is expected cut off for MIT Manipal Campus for Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Electronics Engineering (EE) Branch. Few branches have been merged into EE. I also want to know how many total seats are there for 2026 for ECE and EE.

Samyak Jain 10th Jun, 2026

Hello Dear Student,
For admission to MIT Manipal through MET, Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) is generally one of the more competitive circuit branches, while Electronics Engineering and Electrical & Electronics-related programs tend to have slightly higher closing ranks. Previous and recent cutoff trends indicate that ECE usually closes earlier

I have -12D myopia and i dont have interest in coding and electronics So which core engineering field should i choose to get a job

Devika Malik 4th Jun, 2026

Hello,

With -12D myopia , you can still pursue most engineering branches. The bigger factor should be your interest and skills , not just your eyesight.

Since you don't like coding or electronics , you can consider:

  • Mechanical Engineering – Good for manufacturing, design, automotive, and core industries.

  • Civil Engineering

my brother got a 93percentile in jee mains and his AIR is 1lakh above he will eligible for nit and iiit college of India for branch cse, aids, aiml or electronics

Devika Malik 3rd Jun, 2026

Hello,

With a 93 percentile in JEE Main and a CRL rank above 1 lakh , getting CSE, AI/ML, AI & DS, or ECE in top NITs and IIITs through the General category may be difficult. However, your chances depend heavily on your category , home state quota , and

i got Electronics and Computer engineering with minor in AI/ML in VIT AP under category 2. Also got CSE and ECE in KLU Hyderabad. which one to choose. pls guide

Devika Malik 1st Jun, 2026

Hi,

If I were in your position, I'd probably choose VIT-AP Electronics and Computer Engineering with the AI/ML minor .

While it's not core CSE, the branch still includes a good amount of computer science, and the AI/ML minor is a nice addition. Plus, VIT generally has a stronger brand

Samyak Jain 1st Jun, 2026

Hello Dear Student,
Yes, if you have 3 years of PCB design and FPGA board bring-up experience , you can definitely be a competitive candidate for semiconductor and hardware-related roles in large tech companies.

Your experience provides valuable knowledge in areas such as:

  • signal integrity,
  • power distribution,
  • clocking concepts,

Hi Sir, Seeking advice on choice between BITS Pharma vs Thapar Electronics, specially when child have no specific interest for any branch. Our main considerations would be Career prospects for future. Please suggest. Thanks

Samyak Jain 31st May, 2026

Hello Dear Student,

If the child has no strong branch preference , then between BITS Pharma and Thapar Electronics, I would generally lean toward Thapar Electronics for broader career flexibility and safer future prospects.

Here’s why:

  • Electronics allows entry into:
    • software/IT,
    • core electronics,
    • semiconductor,
    • analytics, and
    • consulting roles.
  • Thapar has

Devika Malik 27th May, 2026

Hi,

With 84% in boards and 92 marks in MET, getting Electronics and Computer Engineering (ECE with Computer-related specialization) at Manipal Bengaluru campus may be difficult but you can still have some chances in later counselling rounds. Your board marks are decent, but MET score is on the lower side

Samyak Jain 27th May, 2026

Hello Dear Student,

With 92 marks in MET and 84% boards , getting Electronics and Computer Engineering at Manipal Institute of Technology Bengaluru is borderline but still possible, especially in later counselling rounds.

Recent cutoff trends show Electronics and Computer Engineering at MIT Bengaluru closing around 11k–16k ranks depending on

Can I apply for Nirma btech in electronics with Cbse as 80 percentage and IIT JEE scorecard as 76 percentile. Will I get adm

Devika Malik 25th May, 2026

Hi,

Yes, you are eligible to apply to Nirma University since your board marks are well above the minimum requirement.

But with around 76 percentile in JEE Main, getting ECE there is honestly very difficult because ECE cutoffs usually go much higher (around 93–95 percentile range).

If you are from

I got 2659 rank in polycet Sodom I get seat institute of government electronics

Devika Malik 25th May, 2026

Hi,

With a TS POLYCET rank around 2659, your chances at Government Institute of Electronics for Electronics-related branches are quite strong.

For OC category also, your rank is generally within the usual cutoff range, and for reserved categories (BC/SC/ST), chances become even better.

During counselling:
• Keep GIOE Secunderabad high
