Can i pursue MBA. I am 31 and after graduation i had 2.10 years of gap and had employment after that due to covid i left the job. currently i am having 3.7 years of experience my last month of job was july 2020 and my starting month was november 2016.
Hello
An MBA can be pursued by anyone who has a bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognised college. The age is not a barrier for pursuing MBA. You can do it at any stage of your life and there are different courses for different level of work experience too. Let me tackle the question step by step.
- Age of 31 years - As I said, age is not at all a barrier. In lot of MBA colleges we see students who had huge experience or were preparing for some other competitive exams like Civil services due to which they get delyed in admission into MBA.
- Gap of 2 years - I am sure you have a valid reason for this gap. A gap is not a big negative in the profile. However, you will need to justify it properly in your interviews. Also after joining MBA, while you sit for interviews to companies, there also you maybe asked about the gap. Just be sure to justify the gap.
- Workex of 3.7 years - This is a very strong point in your profile. An experience of 2+ is considered very good. Due to this you will be shortlisted by lot of companies. You are also eligible for some profiles which are not open for freshers. We see that lot of companies like to recruit graduates with pre-MBA work experience as that gives them the much needed industry exposure. Even colleges prefer students with work experience for diversity. The add value to classroom discussions due to their real life experience and exposure at industry level.
- Leaving job due to Covid - I'm sorry to hear this. In terms of admissions to MBA colleges, the interview will definitely understand the reasons for this is the pandemic and you are no way at fault here. However, I hope you have done something productive in the past few months like preparing for exam. Alongside, I would also suggest you to take up some internship in a startup or some live projects or freelance projects to strengthen your profile further. These can be unpaid internships too. They will boost your resume.
All the best

B.pharma Vs Bsc in chemistry Hons which is better in salary, scope, employment ?
Hello,
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry Honours is a relatively broad field as compared to B.Pharma. However, there are some good employment options that recruit Pharma graduates. The post of Drug Inspector being very common among them.
BSc in Chemistry Hons offers you the option to migrate to B.Pharma or several similar such fields later in your career.
Having said all these, just go for the subject you have interest in. I would suggest you to think about your future goals. If academia/ research-based industry attracts you, definitely BSc in Chemistry is the choice and if you think you would like to initiate entrepreneurship associated with medicine, go for B.Pharma.
