Engineering science:  This program generally focuses on the general application of various combinations of mathematical and scientific principles which include analysis and evaluation of engineering problem. This will apply to the  field research like human behaviour,biology, statistics etc.

Engineering physics: In this program mainly focus on the advance physics topic just like physics major . Mainly tends to work on the technology and science .

Both the courses are good, but engineering science is an interdisciplinary course,so more door is open for careers. But does not mean another course does not have career. However, it is up to your interset in the subject and field.

For pilot course you can get admission in indira gandhi rashtriya udaan academy. IGRUA entrance exam helps in getting admission, you can give this entrance exam and get enrolled, after completing course, after getting certificates, you have to give medical test and then you can practice flying for more than 250 hours and apply for commercial pilot certificate and then you will become a professional commercial pilot.

Also you can join IAF, they have their own entrance test.

Based on previous years' placement records IIEST shibpur, doe shave a good placement record. according to the stats Around 387 offers were made by almost 90 companies who took part in the placement drives of the University major being the Microsoft, Tata Steel Ltd., Denso Harayana, Otis Elevator, Gannon Dunkerley,  Vedanta Limited, Mentor Graphics, Adobe, Hyundai Motors, HSBC Technologies, ZS Associates, Directi, Smartprix, Veritas Technologies LLC, PWC, Maruti and various others.

The highest package of Rs. 39.12 Lakhs were offered by Adobe followed by Rs. 26.88 Lakhs by Directi. 63% students were placed in B.Tech branches  Highest number of total offers including the multiple offes were provided to the Information Technology students followed by Computer Science Engineering students.
