what competitive exam should i prepare for government school English teacher job?
Hi there.
Well, it's great to hear that you intend to choose teaching as a career. Therefore, in order to become a government teacher in India, the candidates must have completed Senior Secondary, Graduation, or Post Graduation. Then they must apply for a Teacher Training course such as NTT/BTC, or B.ed CBSE holds CTET (Central Eligibility Test) at the Central level to certify Primary and Elementary level teachers, while relevant State Authorities hold State TET to certify PRT, TGT, and PGT level teachers.
I want to become a teacher but I want to become a foreign teacher. I want to master English. I have passed 12 class. I really want to know which course stream I should choose and which steps I have to do to become a foreign English teacher. i hope you reply as soon as possible
Hello Niytee
To master English language i would suggest you to do English honors first from a recognized university, learning English wouldn't be a problem.
Now, since you want to become a foriegn teacher. To teach English abroad, you don't really need a degree or experience. The key requirement is the "accredited TELF or TELSOL certification ". TELF - Teaching English as a Foriegn Language, TELSOL - Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.
Accredited training will be required in your resume by the employers of different countries. The recruiters prefer native English speaking people and people who have some sort of professional training. TELF will give you ghe the skills and tools you will need to teach as a professional, you will also learn the ways to explain and teach to speakers of other languages. It takes time to get certified and also takes big amount of money but at last its all worth.
Hope this helps. All the best!
