I m graduating From arts that is BA... Will i get a admission in FMS?? Or will there be any problem in getting admission??
FMS Delhi doesn't differentiate between the Academic qualifications. There are points for Diversity but CAT score takes the maximum weightage along with your Academic marks. FMS Delhi usually has the highest cut offs for its 200 seat intake. The selection process includes 3 stage method. They are:
Eligibility Criteria
Group Discussion and Personal Interview
Final Selection
The basic eligibility criteria remains 50% aggregate for General Category in Graduation and 45% for Reserved Categories or equivalent CGPA from any recognised University. The percentiles in CAT are considered for the further rounds. In 2018, the weightage given for various sections of CAT have been as follows:
QA: 30%
DILR: 30%
VARC: 40%
An additional 3 marks are added to the Composite score in case of women for shortlisting. This score is used only for shortlisting Candidates for Personal Interview. The weightage for Final selection is as follows:
Personal Interview: 15%
CAT score: 60%
Group Discussion: 10%
Extempore: 5%
10th marks: 5%
12th marks: 5%
An additional 3 marks of the maximum aggregate will be added to the women candidates who have attended the Interview. Now with all this process, the cut offs is an important issue to be discussed. Previously FMS used to consider overall CAT score for shortlisting. However since the past 2 years, FMS has been giving sectional preference and weightage. VARC occupies the top position with 40% weightage. A Candidate with at least 97 sectional weightage will be shortlisted at FMS. So it is important to focus more on VARC section while not leaving other sections. Higher cut offs are due to the intensity of the competition at FMS, Delhi. Their placements speak for themselves. FMS, Delhi concluded 2018 placements with an average placement package of 22.60 Lakhs for Women Candidates. Out of a batch of 223 Students, 215 participated in Placements and all of them have been placed there by leaving FMS, Delhi at the top in 100% Placement Companies. Though 133 companies participated in Hiring process, 83 companies could make the recruitment offers.
I HAVE SCORED 25 OVERALL AND -2 IN QUANT SECTION IS THERE ANY CHANCE TO GET A CALL FROM PWD QOTA FROM FMS BHU, I AM PWD HEARING IMPAIRED
Hello Aspirant ,
Sorry to tell you but getting a negetive score in any of the section will not going to give you a call from BHU as for getting admission there you must get a non-zero positive number which you don't have so you won't get a call.
But don't loose hope there are some other good exams like XAT with some good colleges like FORE DELHI, KJ SOMAIYA, IMT GHAZIABAD, IMI DELHI and TAPMI, so you should concentrate on these exams to get good marks and get a call from one of these colleges.
I hope the above information is beneficial for you.
All the best.
i got 93% in 10th, 87.6% in 12th, 72.37% in graduation and got 56.88 percentile in cat. will i be selected for gdpi in fms bhu and fms delhi?
Hello student !
As fms is among the top colleges for mba so the cut off for this college is very high to get selected for gdpi round. So with percentile 56.88 it is impossible to get selected for the same. For getting enrolled in FMS you need to score 95+ percentile.
Hope this will help you
All the best
I m subham ..I got only 10 percentile in cat ..68 % in 10th and 68% in 12th ...I m physicality challenge student ..can I got admission in fms BHU
In 2019 the cut off for FMS BHU was 85% percentile for candidates who belong to general category. And there is no minimum cut off percentile for reserved candidates. And this cut may change in 2020.So if you belong to reserved category you may get selected. The final selection is based on 50 percentage in CAT, 30 percentage in group discussion and interview and 20 percentage for past education performance.
what was the highest and average package for the year 2019 in FMS BHU?
Hi! I am from IIT Kanpur, my btech score is 6.3 till 6th sem, class XII score is 96%, class X score is 95%. How much percentile minimum is needed to get a call from top 3 IIMs and FMS???
Hi Sarthak,
First of all, I would like to congratulate you on your awesome academic record and also making it to the IITs which is offcourse a matter of big deal. Since you are in 6 th semester, it would be an accurate time for you to start your CAT preparation. Making it to the top 3 IIMs and FMS for a GEM, is a hard nut to crack but it is not impossible. It will require your constant dedication and determination to stay put and work hard till you achieve your target and believe it or not, the panellists in the GD/PI would always prefer a person from IITs. So there you would have an advantage over your peers as well.
Now coming to your question about the cutoffs, I am listing down the top tier institutes with their CAT cutoffs:
Colleges |
CAT Cutoff (for a General Category student) |
IIM Ahmedabad |
99+ |
IIM Bangalore |
99+ |
IIM Calcutta |
99+ |
IIM Lucknow |
98+ |
IIM Kozhikode |
98+ |
IIM Indore |
98+ |
FMS, Delhi |
98+ |
SPJAIN, Mumbai |
97+ |
NITIE, Mumbai |
97+ |
JBIMS, Mumbai |
98+ |
IIT Bombay |
98+ |
IIT Delhi |
96+ |
Though the list is not exhaustive, but these are some of the best institutes in India to apply for an MBA/PGDM.
However, the journey does not end after achieving the required percentile. The Institutes have further processes of short-listing and selection from them is like 1:10 kind of thing. Though you will have a preference of being an IIT-ian, but you have to be best among the best to make it to the Tier-1 institutes. There is an addition round of extempore in some of the institutes where you need to be good at speaking English and you should have content in what you speak.
You can also try for XLRI(through XAT), SIBM-Pune(through SNAP), TISS-HRM(through TISS-NET), SIMSREE(through CAT and CMAT) and these are also TIER-1 institutes which will definitely fetch you a good job with a hefty salary package.
I hope I have been able to answer your query. If you require any kind of help, do not forget to write here and we will try our best to help you out. All the best!!!
cut off percentile in IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Indore, FMS Delhi, and IIM Calcutta?
The cutoff percentile for IIMs and old management institutions like FMS Delhi ranges over 99 percentile. New IIMs like IIM Sambalpur, IIM Ranchi require 90 percentile as their eligibility criteria. The cutoff is decided on the basis of following points :
1. Exam difficulty
2. Number of test giving candidates
3. Number of candidates who qualify the exam
4. Total count of seats
5. Ranking of the institutes
OBC-Male. 145 CAT 2019 (51,36,58). 97.57, 96.33, 87.6. B-Tech, NIT Allahabad. Chances of FMS convert? And if IIM-A,B,C possible?
Mrigank, a score of 145 is really good for CAT 2019 and although we cannot accurately estimate the percentile until the official data is released, your score is expected to lie between 97 to 98 percentile. Also, you also have a stellar past academic performance.
FMS calls students above 94-95 percentile in OBC category for the next rounds. For IIMs, Ahmedabad might have a slightly higher cutoff and Bangalore prefers some work experience. Other than that, you can easily get a call from IIM Calcutta, Kozhikode, Lucknow and Indore as they expect a 95-96+ percentile and you also clear their 10th, 12th and graduation marks cutoff.
So you can expect calls from most of these institutes. You can start preparing for the further rounds- GD, PI, WAT- as differs from college to college since they also carry significant weightage in your final selection. All the best.
