Eligibility to get admission in M.Tech through GATE is that the candidate should have completed their B.tech/B.E with a valid GATE score. But Students who have done their B.tech programme from IIIT and having points above 8 can join IITS for MS , M.Tech or P.hD programme without valid GATE score.

There are some colleges in which Gate Qualifying or Score is not mandatory for Selection of Postgraduate courses (Eg: IIT Hyderabad, you can visit IITH official website for more information). But the candidate should perform well in Interview and entrance test.

YES, ONGC recruits through GATE score also.

ONGC Recruitment through GATE 2020 - Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has released a notification for ONGC recruitment through GATE 2020.

Candidates who will qualify for the GATE 2020 are only be eligible for  applying  the ONGC recruitment through GATE 2020 and will be shortlisted based on  GATE scores. As a part of the application procedure of ONGC recruitment, candidates are informed to pay an application fee and  should upload their photograph and signature in the requested format and size. Shortlisted candidates based on their GATE Score are called for a written test.

Candidates who will qualify in the written test round , will be having a personal interview after that they will get an appointment letter .

Educational Qualification

Full-Time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering /Technology or Five years integrated Master’s degree or Dual Degree programme in Engineering or Technology in the disciplines of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized Indian University/ Institute.

Age Criteria

• 27 Years (Candidates born before September 1, 1992, are not eligible to apply)
• 29 years for candidates having two years’ full-time Post Graduate in Engineering or Business Administration/ Management

The authorities have re-extended the final date to submit the application form for IOCL recruitment through GATE 2020. Indian Citizens who have graduated in disciplines like Civil, Chemical, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering can apply for the IOCL recruitment through GATE 2020. That is unlikely to happen. Candidates are shorlisted based on their GATE score and the cut off depends on number of vacancies , number of candidates applied, number of candidates appeared in a particular paper etc. The shortlisted candidates need to verify their documents and attend a personal interview. 85% weightage is given for GATE score and 15% weightage is given for personal interview. And a final merit is prepared. If you aren't shortlisted based on your GATE score then you may not get another chance. You may have to look for some other alternative.

see every year cutoff score changes and it depends on certain factors like number of participants, questions difficulty level, seat matrix, choice of stream for m.tech, students category etc. however gate score holders gate first priority in tanca counselling. remaining seats fills by tancet score holders. now coming to the seat matrix , there is total of 25 seats in mtech in thermal engineering. so at this score chances in less for mtech in thermal engineering.

I suggest you to participate in the counselling process and lets see whats come around. meanwhile try for other colleges also.
