Hope this will help you
I am having good chances in 16 colleges as per Careers360 gate college predictor upto what percent I can rely on it?Also my gate score is 442 in ece open category and what are my chances in nielt aurangabad?
With 442 as your Gate score in the open category, it is not going to be easy at NIELIT Aurangabad. Trying in lower ranked NITs is an option that you can consider and examples are Jharkhand, Jalandhar, Manipur, Agartala. Have you registered under CCMT2020 for admission to their listed colleges and if you have any queries so you can write to: ccmt2020help@mnit.ac.in (mailto:ccmt2020help@mnit.ac.in)
If you happy with the 16 college’s list then was suggested, then rank them in order of preference and apply to the ones you like. Do the necessary registration and necessary short listing to avoid any last minute uncertainties.
Good Luck!

GATE 2019 CS score 503 (GEN). Is there a chance that I get a seat in COAP additonal rounds as i did not get one in five previous rounds?
Hello Adarsh, with your Gate score your chance of getting any seat in COAP counselling is quite less, but if you are not very much determined to be admitted in IIT then I would suggest you to go through CCMT(Centralized Counselling for M Tech) though the dates are over, but with your Gate score just go through the process so next time you can be aware of it.
If you want IIT then,a little more prep is required and to try again for next year,If you can score 533,then you can score more than that.
All the best!!
Can any one explain what is additional round A and round B in COAP ?
Hello Saurav,
Additional rounds A and B are the extra rounds that are conducted after the normal rounds of counseling in cas the M.Tech seats in IITs remain vacant after the normal rounds of counselling. So, they essentially act as the spot rounds that are conducted after normal counseling procedure.
Some more information about GATE:
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national-level post-graduate entrance exam that is jointly conducted by the seven IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Guwahati, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore for admission to M.Tech programmes offered by government as well as many private institutes.
GATE 2019 was organized by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras in online mode on February 2, 3, 9 and 10, 2019.
COAP is conducted by IITs (IIT Madras in 2019) to facilitate admissions of aspirants in M.Tech programs of IITs. The candidates after applying to the IITs of their choice on the basis of the GATE scores, have to necessrily apply for COAP.
CCMT is conducted for admissions to M.Tech programs of NITs by different NITs (NIT Rourkela in 2019).

Hey Nayna.
See the marks su have scored is not that pretty much enough for u to bag a satisfactory seat in the good college for pusuing ur higher studies in the field of ur interest. U should be going for some private institutions for ur mtech career which accepts the low score of the GATE exam. I can also provide u a predictor which might help u in some way.

College Predictor for GATE 2019 doesnt show my chances in IIT Ropar. Can anyone please help me out ?
Hello hello weni,
From the details that you gave I think you want to know the cutoffs and eligibility so that you can be sure of that whether you would get into IIT Ropar or not based on your GATE marks.
IIT Ropar is one of the eight new IITs established by MHRD with an aim to expand the research and enhance the quality of education in India.
IIT Ropar prepares GATE cutoff by considering a bunch of factors including:
- Previous year cutoff.
- Seats available in the specific course.
- The total number of candidates appeared for GATE exam.
- The difficulty level of the exam.
- GATE normalised score.
So, there might be chances that college predictors may fail in considering these factors. So, Let me give you the complete details of the admission process in IIT Ropar and its cutoff.
Lets first start with the Mtech programs that IIT Ropar have:
Centre for Biomedical Engineering : Total seats 10
- Biomedical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering : Total Seats 35
- Thermal Engineering
- Mechanics and Design
- Manufacturing Engineering
Electrical Engineering : Total Seats 25
- Power Engineering
- Communication and Signal Processing
Computer Science and Engineering: Total seats 20
General Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech Courses:
- Candidates with 60% marks in B.E/ B.Tech/ M.Sc degree are eligible to apply for the M.Tech course offered by IIT Ropar.
- Along with educational qualification, the candidates must have a valid GATE score 2019/ 2018/ 2017.
Now I am giving you the past year cutoff table depicting the past year cutoff for IIT Ropar.
Name of the M.Tech Specialisation GATE Cutoff for General BC SC ST
Biomedical Engineering 436 428 - 244
Computer Science and Engineering 691 611 425 358
Communication and Signal Processing 516 531 434 -
Power Engineering 613 580 415 261
Manufacturing Engineering 675 683 599 230
Mechanics & Design 717 687 611 422
Thermal Engineering 717 675 515 369
This would give you the clear picture of whether you would get into IIT Ropar or not.
All the best!
I have not qualified the GATE exam. Please explain me how will I come to know my marks out of 1000 so that I could use college predictor?
Dont worry if you have not qualified your gate exam because success is not easy cup of tea for everyone.Firstly i would like to mention here that college predictor do not always gives right results and totally depending on it is waste of time. But as you told that you haven’t qualified for exam, you should check your marks in the result section of official site and can use college predictor .
