I finished 2nd pu, I want to join genetic engineering, plzz tell the Elegebility criteria and fees structure
Hello aspirant !
Bachelor of technology in Genetic engineering is an undergraduate course in genetics. Genetic engineering includes the genetic modification techniques used to achieve the desired characteristic in one living organism. The composition of DNA is altered by either insertion of the gene of desired characteristics that is artificially prepared or obtained from other living organisms.
The minimum eligibility criteria is that the candidate should have passed 12th with PCB or PCM or equivalent with more than 50% of the marks. Some of the entrance exams for admission are JEE Mains,UPSEE.The admission process occurs through National/State-level entrance exams or University specific entrance tests. The average course fee ranges from 1.5 lakhs to 2 lakhs.
Hope this helps you.Feel free to ask if you have any more queries.
All the best !!

I have applied to phase 2 srmjee 2021 with my preferences for biotechnology and genetic engineering, would I be writing a pcm or pcb exam or would I be able to choose the exam I wanna write somewhere?
Hello,
Candidates who wish to get admission to Bio-Technology, Bio-Technology with Genetic Engineering must attempt questions from Biology section instead of Mathematics session. The exam patter is as follows
There will be 4 sections: Physics, Maths/Biology, Chemistry, English and Aptitude. The duration of the exam is Two hours and thirty minutes. The total number of questions are 125. The section-wise total number of questions are as follows
- Physics: 35
- Maths/Bio-Technology: 40
- Chemistry: 35
- English: 5
- Aptitude: 10
Each question carries one mark there is no negative marking.
You have to attempt the questions from Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude while taking the exam to get admission to Bio-Technology with Genetic Engineering.
Hi, i have applied for mtech artificial intelligence and machine learning in VIT entrance exam, but i am from btech genetic engineering department. Its showing triple majors not eligible ,what does it men and how do i resolve my isue
hi,
a triple major r mean three subjects towards one degree or three different subjects towards three different majors or degree. however this is not applicable for you. since you have done b.tech in genetic engineering stream only. the eligibility criteria for m.tech in cse with specialization of artificial intelligence and machine learning is candidates must complete B.E/ B.Tech Degree in any Branch / MCA or any other equivalent degree.
however you should immediately contact with exam control authority relating the issue at below address.

what is the scope of doing a ph.D. is there scope. to do oh.d which uG course I should pursue will I be able to do ph.d when I pursue genetic engineering?
Hello,
will have plenty of relevant experience in is an academic job, such as university lecturer or researcher. Now minimum qualification get a job as professor in college is Phd. candidate must complete a Bachelor’s degree in Science with specialization in Biophysics/ Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Genetics or B.tech in genetic engineering . After attaining the relevant Bachelor’s degree, the candidates can either go for M.Sc in any of the above subjects or M.Tech or Master’s degree in Genetic Engineering. Obtaining an M.Tech degree will not be enough for the position of researcher or scientists. Therefore, a Ph.D in the respective field is mandatory.
what is about genetic engineering. does it have scope?
Hello aspirant,
Genetic Engineering is that field which is related to genes & DNA. Genetic engineering is used by scientists to improve or modify the traits of an individual organism .
yes it has a good scope.
After pursuing courses in genetic engineering , you can work in medical and pharmaceutical industries, research and development departments, agricultural sector, genetic engineering firms, chemical companies, etc. ... With the increasing number of biotech firms in India, the future scope in genetic engineering is good.
Hope this helps you
All the best for your future
