As your score is 89.04 percentile in Jee mains examination and you haven't mentioned your category of eligibility. For general category cutoff percentile is 89.75 , for OBC category cutoff is 74.31 percentile, for SC category cutoff is 54.01 percentile and st category cutoff is 44.33 percentile.

If you have qualified jee mains , you are eligible to write JEE advanced.

Reservation for EWS category is being provided for the first time by NTA in JEE Main exam therefore it would be difficult to tell you about your chances of admission as previous year cutoffs for EWS category is not available for reference.

You are at the border line of getting a seat in HBTU. The marks you have mentioned will give you that much rank which may bring you very near to the cutoff but it is tough to seal the spot in HBTU. Home state quota may make things better.

Wait for few rounds in the beginning, please be flexible with your choices and keep some colleges as backup if you aren't getting seat in HBTU.

A Candidate for admission to the four-year degree course in Engineering must have passed the Intermediate examination (10+2) of the Board of Intermediate Education with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as subjects or any other examination.

The fee for Computer Science and Engineering here is around Rs.70,000 per academic year.

To get admission in Harcourt Butler Technological Institute, Kanpur you can write any one of the following exams:

• JEE Mains ( paper-1)
• UPSEE B-Tech

In the case of JEE Mains, in 2018, the opening and closing ranks for CSE are:

• 5968 and 13042 resp. in the first round
• 11626 and 16894 resp. in the second round
• 12054 and 18213 resp. in the third round

You may have a chance to get into Harcourt Butler Technical, Kanpur but it is very difficult if we consider the previous year cut off for the least popular branch in the University which was about 45 thousand ranks.

You can try for Chemical Engineering in HBTU since it is one of the coveted and reputed branch of the college. Moreover to add some pinch of excitement into your curry, BPCL a PSU offered jobs to Harcourtians of chemical engineering this year at 17.5 LPA.

In case you fail to make entry into this branch then go for Paint Technology and Plastic Technology. Since these two branches are gems in HBTU and receive maximum number of offers and good salary too.
