As per WBJEE cutoff in Heritage Institute of Technology for B.tech in Computer science and engineering for General category students is 803-3172, for SC candidates it is 5590, for ST category candidates it is 22264 for first round of counselling. I suggest you to go for HIT-K. It will make your career as an engineer and after completing your B.Tech, you will not lose yourself in the crowd of engineers and IT employees. If you take the course seriously but not only to get a job, If you do not only mug up ORGANIZER before the semester and doing nothing throughout the semester, and If you want to learn the concepts , then I can assure you that HIT-K is the best place and have the best faculties over most of the private institute in not only Bengal but in INDIA. You just have to do your work with patience and the rest will fall apart. Try to make yourself competent, you will then find ample no of scope around you. You can do the same job from AOT and HIT-K ( as some or the other IT companies recruit in a bulk every year). But the thing you can’t get in AOT but in HIT-K is the better research environment, best faculties. I think the according to the number of people get a good rank in GATE and go to IITs,NITs, IIITs and the no of people going to abroad for their MS PhD, the statistics are much better for HIT-K. The faculties encourage the enthusiastic students to do not only course work but also research in the B.Tech level, which fancy your chances to be selected in the worlds leading universities in USA,Germany, Singapore.

Yes, from this year onwards Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University will take admission for B.Tech via JEE Mains. Earlier the university used to conduct IPUCET for its B.Tech admission. But now IPUCET has been scrapped and the admission will take place according to your JEE Mains score.
